Do you think Les will want to re-sign him? That is the question that I am not sure about.

    This poll is bias! ;)

    Where's the real choices?

In one word, He'll be rememebered as Heartless, Soft, Lazy!

Sorry that's three words, how about "Get out of town chump!"

You have to be kidding! Les Re-sign him? Who likes to make 50 cents on the dollar? ...and get 40% in effort

One of the most physically gifted players who accomplished the least over his career.

    A lessor version of Dominique.

He'll be in with the third tier guys. Not quite up there with the Barkleys, Malones, and Stocktons, but easily ahead of your Bernard Kings and Dominique Wilkins.

Wow, this is a t mac all hate thread. Remind me to come to yalls work and critisize everything you do that is a bit shakey. Get a life people, be a fan stop hating and enjoy the effort he has, and he does what he needs too day in and day out. I.e. 2 tripple doubles back to back?

eventually yes. maybe not first ballot (if he doesn't have any playoff success). you can't deny the individual stats and accolades.

tracy has sucked the past 2 games. it is what it is. he just needs to start playing well again and find some way to manage the knee. we need him to heal up faster than at the current pace. he was doing well 6 games into it, now for 2 games straight, he looks like before.

    gotta play better. point blank.

I hope not. How many HOFers can you think of whose desire to win & work ethic was always questioned?

that does not mean he wasn't one of the best players of his generation. if you make an all-time team of the late 90s to early 00s (a span of 10 years), tracy makes that team. it's not a question of other things. it's about what he has accomplished and he has accomplished a lot individually.

    7-time all-star
7-time all-nba (really, this should put him in the HOF: 2x all-nba 1st, 3x all-nba 2nd team), even clyde drexler was all-nba 5x only and 1st team just once -> that should tell you the level of play tracy has displayed througout his CAREER, not just the past 2-3 years. all-nba is not something you can easily obtained, considering the great # of guards/forwards that have come into the L since tracy came in. it's not like the center position where yao can be injured for half a season and stil gets all-nba.
    2x scoring champ
5x top 6 finishes in MVP voting
probably will pass 20,000 in points when he retires, with 6-7000 rebounds, 5000 assists
    top 3 in playoff scoring
top 10 in PER all time

yes, HOF gives you more points for winning and playoff success, but it also rewards those who accomplished a lot individually.

if tracy wins, he'll get in easier. right now, he probably won't get in as first ballot. but he wil get in.

One of the most gifted players of all time, but physically and emotionally fragile. I think the Yao/TMac era will be remembered for the "streak," and ironically, they only played together for a small part of it. TMac just ran out of motivation, and he never had much inner fire anyway. I think that is what separated him from Jordan, Magic, and Bird.

come on solid, you're one of the better posters on here.
you know tmac couldn't even tie magic, bird, and jordan's shoes.
let's not take legends who changed the game and compare them to tmac. you could maybe compare tmac to dominique and alex english.

I think he is heading towards the following tagline after his career.

    "Most talented loser"

Not in what he accomplished, you are right, not even close, but in his natural basketball giftings, I think he is up in that company. Size, coordination, speed, elevation, passing ability, timing; he has (had) it all. We have seen him put on performances that touch greatness. But on a consistent, career basis, it has eluded him. Plus, he never got to play with the same company as the "greats."

that's an excuse. sam cassell went to a clippers team that was the laughing stock of league. was it his shooting and passing that made the team better? partially. he had a meeting with every player and told them that they were going to make the playoffs! that was just cassell.
bird called out his teammates in the nba finals. and they responded.
magic acts like he won the nba finals after winning each game.
jordan would get into scuffles in practice cause he was so intense.
dream? that guy was a beast. he said pass me the ball.. I dunk on all of them. or when he told mario that david robinson took his trophy. the great ones inspired and made their teammates better. nobody feels sorry for dream or jordan just for their opponents. but tmac.. we feel for him.

Tracy wouldn't be the worst HOFer if he got inducted. I think he deserves a place there, despite his shortcomings.
