In what metric is selling under a million cars crushing the competition when there are c companies selling over 8 million cars?

So you think selling 1000 widgets is better than selling 1 million widgets and just because you sell 2000 widgets the next year you are crushing the company that sold 1 million widgets.

That's not how math works in the real world.

I never claimed that Tesla sold the most cars. You are the one claiming Tesla is losing to the competition. When you are growing at 87% a year and the rest of the industry is contracting, aka losing sales, the competition is losing to you. Try to keep up buddy

Do you work for Tesla? Do you have any financial conflicts of interest in the success of Tesla or any other carmaker?

    This is me:

    You didn’t answer.
No, I don’t have any emotional or significant financial ties (beyond ETF and mutual fund exposures) to the success or failure of Tesla or any other automotive maker.

Tesla ultimately gives me Prius vibes.

No that's not what that means but you can keep telling yourself that if it helps you sleep at night.

Growth is not the end all why do you keep ignoring the fact that TESLA is already losing market share in every major market?

Why you did claim is that TESLA was crushing the competition when that is just not true.

Anyway not gonna continue to derail this thread with your nonsense, especially when you cherry pick the metrics you want to use.

Good idea. I don't think your little brain is capable of projection, or wrap itself around the concept until Tesla is actually out selling some of the biggest automakers it sounds like. I'll be sure to bump when it passes BMW next.

I have 8 figures invested in tsla. I'm not sure what's that supposed to prove to you though, that didn't happen because I was biased, it happened because I was RIGHT. I would sell it all the day I thought Tesla was losing to the competition. That's not today.

All depends right, if you have eight figures invested in Tesla but it’s only 5% of your portfolio you have a different emotional response than if you have 8 figures and it is closer to 80 or 90% of your portfolio.

In addition to the manual car, I also drive an e-tron as I mentioned sooo early on in this thread. Maybe page 2 or 3..

I was telling one of my friends about all this internet arguing.
I said there's a guy online who made a bunch of money on TSLA and now is a keyboard warrior for Tesla.
Friend said dude is probably heavy invested in it still which is why he defends it so much.

Makes sense now since this is the same type of passionate arguing I see on stocktwits lol

Seriously, cxubby I am happy for you as well. I just wish you didn't become such an asshat as well when you became rich. Guess money can't buy you class.

If I had 80 or 90% in tsla I would be even more critical of it. You think I would let 90% of my net worth go down the drain because of some fan boy bias? Would make more sense that I actually believe in it to have that kind of conviction. Not to say I can't be wrong, but at least for the last 10 years I've been right so far.

I don't get it, I can literally sell it all today if I didn't believe what I'm saying. Why would I lie to myself and risk my entire net worth?

These people that you referring to that have made a bunch of money in tsla, they made the right bet, made the right read on the industry, was on the right side of history, and was rewarded for it financially.

Let's not listen to them and ignore them.

Instead, let's listen to the people that have no clue about the industry, or better yet, the people that were wrong year after year. Since they have no financial interest, or better yet, already lost everything they have betting on the wrong horse, they must not be biased!

I don't own an EV yet, but ... earlier in this thread, I shared something similar another person told me about the hunt for a working/any charger to where their client was going from the DFW area to Oklahoma with friends. The trip was a bit of a disaster, and he took his ICE vehicle on long-range trips after that, but that was 3 (?) years ago. If most of your driving is within city limits or just the outskirts of a city, you're ok with the 200-300 or so miles of range. If you're tripping between big cities, you're probably still safe, too. If you're going off the beaten path a lot and are worried about charging, I wouldn't. I know people who love driving to tiny towns/places, and that's the main reason they aren't getting an EV yet. For me, that's part of the reason. I'm hoping the negatives become neutral or positives for me in the next 5-7 years.

Ok, apologies for being an asshat. But understand that the people I'm arguing with here are wrong, and the stuff that jiggy guy quotes I have heard for years, and years, and year after year it gets disproven and dispelled. It gets tiring. But you are right, money doesn't buy class and that's on me. I'm going to head out of this thread, apologies to all. My three gfs are waiting and money certainly does buy those.
