The range of the new Silverado WT with the big battery is impressive. With more than 200kwh of battery, it was able to go 232 miles on a single charge while towing 6500lb trailer at 1.1 mi/kwh.

Efficiency is okay, but the range is very impressive with the big battery.

What about semis? lol. Maybe the new EV tax will help pay for the roads. :D

But it's all below the floor, so there's a lesser rollover risk.

    Ya what about them?
You think the roads will the same if every car was 8000 lbs?

No idea what the impact would be, but if they're ok for 25-40 ton vehicles to traverse all day and night ... I don't know. The average F-150 probably weighs as much as a Tesla, and I doubt "every" car will be 8000 lbs. any time soon (or ever). I also don't know if everybody and their mother is looking for that specific electric pickup. I'd be more worried about parking garages. Like I said, as long as EVs are paying their fair share to repair the roads...

This was pretty impressive. Not just the range, but also that "ultra fast charger" or whatever it was is good to see. The price to charge on the road was close to the same as gas, but if you're charging at home you definitely see some savings. Also surprised that the overall costs weren't that far off either ($12K or so?).

It wouldn't be in my price range, as I'm not really buying luxury vehicles (my F150 cost $37.4K out the door, but that was in 2019), but it's good to see the technology getting there. Maybe not the next car, but the "next next" car.

I don't see the issue with this note. It's not the most polite but it makes sense.

If all of the stalls are empty, then slow charging cars that can charge at full speed in the 100kw stalls should use those rather than the 350kw stalls.

I wouldn't expect the Bolt to move if they're already charging or wait in queue while there is a 350kw stall empty, but if there are a slow charger and a fast charger available, then it would be courteous for the Bolt to use the 100kw stall.

Though I don't foresee this being an issue in a few years. Charging stations that can auto-balance should come to the market soon to allow everyone to charge at an optimal speed that the station can handle.

ya but depends on when the bolt got there, and whether the slower one was already taken up.
if i have a slower charging car, i am not going to stop halfway and move it over to the slower charger which wasnt free initially..

you are also assuming the general public will know what their charging rate is...

I need to stay employed for the next few decades. Between EVs destroying our roads and climate change leading to more intense storms, I should be set.

I'm a civil engineer. Between drainage and street reconstruction/rehabs, I'll be in good shape :).

Oh. One of those. You're the cause of all of society's issues. I take it back.
