Correct me if im wrong, but didnt CD get a 2-year contract extension. Everyone still acts like CD is responsible for all the personel moves and bad drafts we had the last couple years. If anyone it was Rudy who was the most influential in personel decisions. Now with Rudy no longer running the show, CD should be able to go after guys he wants and likes.

This year CD has done a decent job with what he has been given with. This rockets team doesnt have very many tradable resources.

-He traded away a fan favorite for some depth at the 4. I dont know about you, but I personally believe mocchie could still be here if Rudy was still coach.
-Had a solid 2nd draft pick.
-Picked up JJ who probably is our mvp.

This offseason is where CD can probably make his mark on the team, and I will wait till the end of this critical offseason to pass judgement on CD.

I'm with you on trading Cato and Cat to get T-mac who along with JJ would make a deadly guard/small forward combo. And we go out to get a power forward who can shoot the J, in the case Rasheed W would be a dream. With a more descipline Steve and ever improving Yao. Now, we are talking about Championship!

Two scenarios that would make it obvious to me that change is needed.

    1. If the team plays horrible and gets swept.

    2. If the team plays great. They play there hearts out and still get swept. That would be a sign to me that they just flat out aren't good enough.

"The Griffin thing is why we are here", says Captain Obvious.

Truth is we wasted our rebuilding rewards on our investment in Griffin and have little else, save for the really big fella, thanks to the bounce of the ball. If we're to rely on Ming then we'll have to wait it out, much like we did with Hakeem and accept that until he dominates EVERY single night, we're just a pretender. Once his maturation process is complete, four years perhaps, during which we are able to make solid, complimentary moves to his persona, then and only then will we be a contender. We'll play the role of the T-Wolves as first round playoff fodder during this stage.

Not blessed with a desirable cap situation, without an abundance of near-term infusion of youth (see failed Griffin expirement above), we will not make a quick fix. Nachbar may provide rewards from the lottery, far be it guaranteed though.

"The Griffin thing set us back without a doubt, but I think we'd be better off matching our expectations with the growth (development) track of the team. It will take longer, so adjust your mindset from a quick fix approach, and we all will be more the better". Says the Not-So-Captain Obvious.

Your statement is very true except I didn't see the Team Chemistry. Its very difficukt when you have the team pulling in two different directions.
