    1350 SAT
    550 Verbal
800 Math - failed Algebra II in high school for never showing steps - screw you Mr. Ivy!

920 is what I scored in 7th grade with that Duke program - 550 in math

Horrible GPA in high School - when I had a tryout for the Music Department at UH, they assumed my school graded on a 3.0 scale.

Playing in a band = pissing away a scholarship

Still play in that same band though - 10 years later. I cannot decide if that is good or bad. I'm going to go cry now.

If your like me, then your efforts were not there. I lived it up from 9th thru 12th and didn't really give a rat's ass about schoolwork and rankings(in other words, I succumbed to peer pressure). I commend the "nerds" for taking high school so seriously [IMG]. Some of these numbers are absolutely mindboggling! Where are all the low scorers? Dead? Homeless? Living with parents? Computer illiterate? Maybe our next comparisons should be on salary...I will feel better then. I'm the smartest dumbass around. It's been so long I don't even recall my actual HS numbers but they were probably something like this:

HS rank: Bottom-upper [IMG] 4th quarter out of 1200 students; yes that's behind the other 3/4 of students.
    HS GPA: ~2.75
SAT: 900(I think I got that for signing my name and marking "C" for all my answers j/k)

    Undergraduate GPA: 3.3 (MIS)

I didn't take high school seriously and am still successful. Go underachievers!Woohoo!!!!

Is it a coincidence that most of the people that frequent these forums are nerd material? I thought at least some of you were average Rocket fans...maybe those are the ones who are too embarrassed to reply? Come on out of the closet. Am I the only one here who actually skipped school days and forged my own notes as well? Guess so....DOH! So much for the pissing contest we have going here. You all win!

    LOL! :

    http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum7/HTML/003569.html

Naaa... but have you ever tapped into the source code on your school's attendance software and magically made yourself present on certain skip days? *ahem*... neither have I. [IMG]

Oh my friend, how you bring back the indelible experiences of high school. We used to skip class and go to Burger King on a daily basis. Sometimes not even to eat. Just to rebel. Fortunately I knew that if I wanted to get into a good school I'd have to keep my grades up and get involved. Looking back, peer pressure affected me a lot more than I thought. High School politics were cruel.

If I remember correctly, I got a 1060 on the SAT. I think I could have done better had it not been freezing in the cafeteria when I took it.

I had an 88.5something GPA in high school (we used a 100 point grading system), and I was ranked somewhere around 120 out of about 550, IIRC.

My final GPA in college was a 3.08 (accounting major).

And I got a 580 on the GMAT.

All you guys that are calling yourselves "dumbasses" for supposedly scoring low on SAT's don't worry. They don't mean squat in the real world. Nobody asks you "What did you make on the SAT's" in the workforce. Just apply yourselves and do well enough to get into the college of your choice; then apply yourselves even further - take it seriously. In "the real world", determination and desire often beat out raw intelligence, and definitely beat out SAT scores. After you're in college, nobody gives a damn about those scores (except if you want to join MENSA, lol).

    Anywho... I'll play along :

SAT : Freshman, 1070; Sophomore;, 1160; Junior, 1380 (I think); Too broke to take it my senior year.
    ACT : 30 (I think -- damn I'm old. lol)
IQ : 151 (and that was when I was in 4th grade, damn it must be like 2983473298743298 now! DUDE!)
High School Rank : I think I was something like 11th out of 425. I was a slacker in high school. It was boring; I'd rather learn about stuff they didn't teach in my high school.
High School GPA : one of those stupid things where you have a 50.0 on a 4.0 scale. Hehe.
College GPA : Undergrad Computer Engineering, 3.6x (I think). Dropped out of college due to family illness and decided not to go back, so I iz wifout a duhgree. [IMG]

Aw Sheiz! Rimbaud, its such a crummy school I'd be embarrased to say...but its an "Art Institute" and its in "Houston"! HA! I finished in '86 but consider myself self-taught or maybe already had the rest of the American Abstract world in me ever since. I've won the NEAs, DMAs, etc...not done too bad, but I still work a monkey-assed job. BTW...I just received notice, Lawndale is gonna give me a 1 person show in 2002 in their Main Gellery! If you are around, come see my shtuff! Do you know Dick Wray?

    SAT: 1450
    HS Rank: 1 / ~500
    LSAT: 172
    UGPA: 3.8ish

I have to say, I don't think any of these are a good measure of anything except your ability to take tests. I am very good at taking tests when I don't know anything about a subject, which happened quite often.

I agree about standardized tests telling you little except that you are good at taking tests. I don't know that HS GPA is a better indicator for college, though.

shanna, you know that the LSAT is on a 180 point scale, right? And you get 60 points of that for filling in your name? So... you sure you got 72?

Congrats, I almost worked at Lawndale about 2 years ago. I more than likely will still not be in Houston in 2002...

Do you have any digital images of your work? If so, would you send me some? Just curious...and do you want representation (not from me, just curious)?

Dick Wray does not sound familiar.

You should be embarrased by your "art" school! [IMG]

When I was in Paris, I took some painting at Parsons in Paris...that is the snobbiest I can go. Meadows was not as good in studio as it is in music, dance, theater, and art history.

    SAT: 1200-1300 (I can't really remember. Sad isn't it?)
HS GPA: 3.0 (I slacked and skipped ALL the time. JZ and I got caught only once though. hehe)
HS rank: my school didn't do this because there were only 49 in my graduating class.
current undergrad GPA @ Rice: 3.8 (English and Anthropology major)
grad school: who knows if I will go?

I've got a funny SAT story.

One of my friends who also took high school very seriously [IMG] tried to pull a scam. This is classic. He cheated his way through high school...copying answers during the tests off of others or having the cheat sheets handy, etc. . He was the guy who never got caught and was also the class clown. Well, SAT time comes....uh oh! He knew he was in trouble. So, what'd he do? HAHAHA....!%$#@!

He got another one of our really smart friends(a whiz test taker) who graduated a few years before to go in and take it for him. He managed to get through the test from all outward appearances problem free with nobody blowing his cover. He scored really high...like 1400s...solidifying entrance into a big school. Right? Wrong. It's like the art book George browsed in the bookstore bathroom but was forced to buy due to it being flagged after he was caught on "Seinfeld". The test had been flagged(no resale). They caught on to something. Someone snitched or knew. We never learned how they found out.

He could never use it and was rejected by any college requiring minimum SAT scores everywhere he applied. He received a letter stating there was suspicion as to whether he even took the test. It was never taken any further than that but it was no good. No matter...because he went to community college and transfered to a big school later to do surprisingly well.

It was crazy to be a bystandard to this at the time, however. I couldn't believe they were even going to attempt it due to the risk but they did. Haha....those were the days.

    Funny line: Ross from Friends:

Joey, "So ross, what did you get on your SAT?"

    Ross, "I got a 1360"

    Monica, "No you didn't."

Ross, "Oh yeah, I forgot you were in the room."

    LOL!
