He's more of a small forward though. We had already lost Budinger and Morris was still questionable at that spot.

Even if you look at the SG spot, we needed him. Martin was likely to be traded at some point and Lamb is a rookie.

I was surprised he picked Houston, if anything.

I think a lot of players would like to play with Houston, a very friendly team who plays hard and has fun. It has a winning culture/mindset.

I liked the idea of having a not too old savy pro here to help the young guys. Also loved his swag and confidence and thought it could help the team

Very solid backup who will defend and shoot 3s. IMO, he's one of that solid group of Scola, Genobili, and Nocioni.

Veteran presence, great three point shooter. I was all for the signing especially at that cheap.

A highly underrated move by Morey. What a catch!

To be honest, all I really knew about Delfino is that he could shoot the 3. He was one of those players that you just really do not care for, for no reason at all. But now I am really enjoying him as part of our squad.

Same here. I felt even before the season that the Rockets needed at least one or two veterans to help teach our kids and keep them calm. But as a player, thought he was a generic perimeter player. Similar in impact(even if different styles) to guys like Lee, Korver, Hinrich, etc.

He's still a generic role player, but a high-end generic role player if that makes sense.

I was all for his signing, expected him to have a pretty good impact on the team.

Knew we had a really young team, thought he'd do a great job bringing some exp and veteranship to the team..along with some 3's.

Which has turned out to be true, but he has still exceded my expectations with his amazing play this season.

That he wouldn't have to guard Okafor on a game winning possession

I expected him to be able to be one of the most versatile defenders in the league, being able to lock-down Dirk, D-Will, George, Reggie Williams, Okafor etc.

i didnt want him, i still dont like that he thinks hes kobe sometimes.. if he understood that hes not and simply stood behind the arc waiting for the open shot, i would be fine with him. hes streaky, i would like him to have a much smaller role off the bench..

He's been playing better than I thought. But if he is your starter, you are not a very good team. He should be a shooter off the bench to charge up the offense.

I was very surprised by his play. He has been a very good backup. When the Rockets got him, it didn't make sense to me to get an older wing.
