My respect for Fetterman has grown immensely because of his moral clarity on Israel (which, funnily enough, will be the key thing you disagree with him on, I guess.)

I don't know about all that, especially if you look at trump rallies where he can't string 2 sentences together or insulting folks.........I think it's pretty simple, even though the economy by most standards was good, inflation from Covid making a landing, high jobs and stock market were records, gas is under $3.00 and the Feds just cut interest again today, the folks who are living paycheck to paycheck are having a tough time, couple that with things like Insurance going up and Biden didn't jump on those table issues. I think we also learned the USA is not ready for a Black Woman to be President and while we're at it I don't think they're ready for a gay person, and I don't think that's just the Bro crowd

I am starting to think a lot of the rhetoric on social media and opinion news stations blow the dumb stuff out of proportion, when people hit the voting booth, they dont care about anything other than how they are doing

trump won by telling them they have a champion in him........................the truth will be in the pudding, if the tariffs dont work and we go into a tailspin there will be a democrat in the WH in 4 years, fix it and keep it low and the gop probably gets another chance. Unlike Biden who had to deal with trumps horrible Covid issues, trump will have a great economy to start so we shall see how they do

The gop won, hats off to ya..........................good luck, I want ya`ll to do well, it means well all do well. I do think some of those promises he was making at the end like the Golden Dome over the USA and this whole deporting 20 million illegals is not tenable, but it sounds good and revs up the crowd, trump is a showman

Definitely not worse. But equally spineless. Cruz has Cancun, Newsom has the French Laundry. Spends his time as governor with political stunts. He clearly is going to run in 2028 and it's going to go poorly.

I would say about Newsom and a few others too that the like "obvious" 2028 guys are almost surely not going to be the candidate in 2028. Alot of sh$t is going to go down, and I think the sort of Pro-Democracy coalition that people call the Democratic Party is going to go through some pretty seismic change in the next couple years.

Every action has an opposite reaction, and normal non-MAGA America will react to Donald Trump 2.0.

Newsom reminds me of a villain in Die Hard. Something evil about this guy, with his slick hair and all. Terrible record in San Francisco and California.

Until there are less voters that care about status quo versus progress we are and will be where we are

Newsom is classic politician. If he's the nominee, Democrats deserve to lose again. All things equal, they need to avoid candidates from CA/NY. They are less appealing to those in the middle. Think Whitmer, Shapiro, Slotkin (2028 is probably too early for her, but 2008 was too early for Obama), Warnock, Mark Kelly, etc. Candidates in battleground states that can rise up in National profile. I'd love to throw Pete & Fetterman, but I think the liabilities that aren't remotely their fault are too much to handle.

Yes, I think we know #1 issue for you is being Pro-Israel or at the very least Anti-Muslim.

    You think being pro-Israel = being anti-Muslim?

No. I think dedicating hours a week to spamming embedded twitter links of Muslims saying or doing bad stuff making the Debate and Discussion sub-section of Clutchfans, a BBS dedicated to the NBA team called the Houston Rockets, into essentially a police blotter of anecdotes of "Muslims being bad" is why people assume you hate Muslims

No, but you are. I don't know how related the two issues are for you, but you are both of those things.

His decade plus addiction to spreading awareness of the evils of Muslims on a basketball message board means he knee jerk reflexively will believe any state or miliary entity that is combating a group of Muslims are inherently the "good guys", so yes his support of Israel is 100% based in his initial hatred of Muslims.

Choosing Kamala was the mistake. Next time they should let the voters choose the candidate. I don't blame Kamala. Who's to say she even wanted to run? She definitely gave it a great effort once she was elevated.

I agree with your premise about the CA/NY candidates. But I think it's more that guys like Newsom rise to power in a one-party state like CA by swinging left while appealing to the corporate donors. It's very performative. Guys like Kelly and Fetterman can't ignore the middle the way that Newsom does, and those states attract a different sort of candidate.

She needed to own the economy. Trump defined the economy as bad. The economy is doing well.

If there is a disconnect between Americans and the health of the economy she could have talked about how gasoline prices have fallen back down.

Trump's our there saying Biden is restricting drilling and we're producing more oil than ever

People feel gaslighted when they are tight on rent payments and the incumbent politician waxes lyrical about how great the economy is. That is why I don't like when presidents take credit for short term health markers like stock market, unemployment rate, inflation rate as if their policies have been fully enacted and we are now seeing the glorious results of these new policies. This is the fault of national media coverage of politics for the past half century where American consumers of the media were brainwashed to believe the executive branch has these magical levers that immediately can control things like the unemployment rate and quarterly stock market returns. It also conditioned Americans to not care about policy in a long term ramification sense and this leads to politicians in power just wanting to temporally pump up economic numbers with all the limited tools they have available as president that often doesn't reflect quality of life right before elections.

Americans have been brainwashed into treating how we organize government and society like quarterly stock market investments where immediate results that often have nothing to do with the current acting president is all that matters.

    I don't think they had a choice.

If Biden would have stuck to his 1 and done policy, there would have been a primary and someone would have come out of it, a much stronger candidate, Harris did the best she could in the 100 days she had.

But, she was a woman and a black woman - which in this country that has racism running rampant among our populace was always going to be an uphill climb.
