Having watched so many rockets game this season, I realize that we are missing something that seperates us from the elite team. It's the pg position. Listen, this is not a rafer bashing thread, I have no intention of making this into a 'rafer sucks' thread. So please don't! I just want to point out that much of our offensive stagnation comes from lack of effective penetration from our pgs. Mcgrady does most of that, and hes pretty effective, but at 6-8, we know he's not the quickest guy out there. We definitely need a PG who can penetrate and finish inside, not those useless floaters that rafer put up. Many people think that we are also weak at the PF position, but that weakness can be easily overcome. Rafer Alston, while he's put up decent effeort and outside shooting to the team, he sucks at penetrating and finishing when we need him to. Don't take it the wrong way, he's improved a lot over the past year and is a good PG for good team, but not for an elite team. I say we try to draft a PG or make a trade...bottom line is we need to do something about the PG position in this offseason.

A new coach, as Mavs did three years ago. It takes great courage to give up a very good one-dimention coach. But it's necessary to take a team from good to great.
You got the most important point, we did not get decent penetration in tough games. TMac is the only one can do that, but his back does not allow him to do that less than half a dozen times a game. Abosolutely we need a PG who can create and distribute, Rafer handles the ball well, but that is all.
okay this is the last time i am going to say it we got TWO SUPERSTARS TWO if we have Another great PG isnt it a bit unfair on the other team?????
A bench that can contribute 25 pts a night. I just saw a stat that since the all-star break the Spurs bench leads the league with their bench contributing 44.1 pts a game.
we need better players . Point blank rafer should be sharing time or coming off the bench! yea our bench sucks!!
