if he was in the EC he would have been, problem for him was there are 5 guards on the all star team, and the 5 guards that went ahead of him all finished ahead of him in the all nba teams (1st - paul, harden, 2nd - curry, parker, 3rd - lillard), he wasn't snubbed, it was just a grotesque imbalance of talent. I'd argue Lowry was snubbed for his history of coach unfriendly attitude, not the best history when being voted on by coaches.
Looking at the stats he was definitely better than Parker or Lillard (efficiency), though I don't necessarily disagree with you, since the Spurs and Blazers had significantly better records. Lowry - biggest snub in the east. Should've gotten the AS invite before DeRozan. Dragic - biggest snub in the west. Could've definitely gotten the invite before Parker, but it would look extremely weird if the Spurs had no players in the AS game. Realistically, the Suns depended on Dragic way more than the Spurs did on Parker.
the Rockets don't need to watch out for Dragic this season because a team lead by Dragic will have the same outcome each season, its not a knock on him he's just not talented enough, he's a good 2nd/3rd option on a real bonafide team
I think Parker is suffering from the 'Bosh Effect' his entire career. 'Bosh Effect' is when a really good player is teamed up with two other great players and therefore becomes underappreciated for his lower production. I think if you put Parker on a fringe playoff team, he could easily average 22ppg/8-9apg. That being said, Dragic has been really good last year and I love his game. A lot of Rockets fans tend to underrate him because he's not a Rocket anymore, and it's hard to admit that letting Dragic go was a bad move.
DMo needs to get his head out of his @ss. This is probably the last year for him to take a big step forward. If not, we should trade him. Is Faried fool's gold? He seemed to benefit the most from superior guards and inferior opponent front lines. Can he translate his success to the NBA? If so, is he worth pairing with Dwight. Harden has to expand his game. The last two playoffs, he couldn't get things going because his threes weren't falling and refs were not calling fouls. I think he must develop a post game to bully the smaller guards in order to remain effective. Jonas V looks like he is ready to contribute more. Batum >>>> Parsons Papa is going to be a no stat non allstar Llull is a lost cause New orleans, if healthy, will have the best paint protection. Asik is the perfect complement to Davis.
DMo is a square peg in a round hole. I'm a big believer in DMo's skill set and size but watching DMo struggle with Lithuania has me starting to come to terms with the fact that DMo will likely never succeed as a stretch four. His strongest skill set, back to the basket offense, never gets any burn. I can't help but believe if DMo had played in the pre-stretch four era he would have already established himself as a rotation player by this point in his career.
If his back to the basket game was good enough, the Rockets would find a way to make it work. It's obviously not good enough to earn him more minutes.
well he is now the backup center so you going to get minutes at default unless joey dorsey is a beast
What I have learned so far 1. Dmo is still soft in the paint and needs to get some aggressiveness 2. Garcia can do ALOT more than stand at the 3pt line waiting for a pass 3. Harden still needs defensive work and has not added anything new to his offense 4. Mchales offense needs to call for more offball movement to make the most of the players on the roster. Harden doesnt step inside the 3pt line unless he has the ball, Dmo is better in post than at 3pt line, Garcia can shoot off screens from anywhere on the floor. Its up to mchale to make this happen
I think Harden has a good chance at FIBA MVP. Should really go to the team though, definitely an amazing team effort every game. Gold medal!
Most likely we are learning nothing. Except that we can send only 2 of our 12 All-NBA players, and the world still can't get within 20 points of us.
I'm all for defending Harden but he got lost...we were playing man the whole game and he scrambled after noticing his man was no where in sight to no avail...Doesn't take away from his remarkable game today or his overall performance in the tournament...Dude was a All NBA 1st talent as advertised
