in '88 i scored 1100 on my first and only try (no prep/studying). that's exactly the score i needed to get into the university of Texas based on my ranking in my class. i never looked back...
Every 15 or so years they readjust the test so it is difficult to make comparisons. When they allowed calculators, for instance, the average score jumped by something like 100 or 200 points. I scored a 1390 (before calculators ).
Wow we have a lot of good SAT test takers in here. I got a 1230 in 2000. I was kinda disappointed but it didnt really matter. I still scored a full ride, and now am very successful. P.S. Never underestimate how much money you can recieve from the governtment for school if you just apply.
1971 I can't remember if they had invented the chalkboard then or if we were still using slate. I got a 1240: 680 on Math and 560 on Verbal... which is ass-backwards. I don't know how I so screwed up the Verbal.
1570 (790 verbal, 780 math) in 1999. read a math question wrong, realized it at the last second, couldn't change it in time. have no idea how i pulled off the 790 on verbal or how my verbal beat my math score (after a 800/710 on the psat i thought i had wasted the best verbal score i could get on a test that didn't count). was it NIKEstrad who got the 1600?
You are very close - it was changed after 1994. Added something like 200 points to our old school test.
Yeah I went to high school in Louisiana and most only took the ACT... I fell asleep during my first attempt and still got a 22 (out of 36 I think). For comparison, I took it again on good rest and got a 29...
1380 out of 1600. I scored higher on the verbal, don't remember the number though. If I didn't fill out analogies that I didn't know, it probably would've been higher.
