so what is the winning numbers tonight moe? honestly, I didn't know a thing about the BBS until I registered, I usually came to the site for Rockets news under the ClutchCity.net site, then noticed I could have gotten the news a lot quicker by reading the BBS. the rest is history. what's funny is that I went to the Viewing Party yesterday, and thanks to the BBS, I can't stand watching a game with fans that dunno **** about the team and just there for free stuff
I was in mind altering state from an illegal drug.... Well the truth was I was Rocket fan, mainly because of T-Mac and Yao, so I joined. Also, I notice on this site, that most posters talk more intelligently and unbiased (unlike ESPN and Foxsports boards) about sports than many high paid professional sports columnist and analysts, even in sports like baseball and football. If I want to hear some important insight about a game I come to Clutch Fans, before I watch it on ESPN or Yahoo Sports. Most of posters on this site are funny as h#ll, especially in the personal threads like this one. You get to meet everyone on this site: die-hard fans, bandwagon crowd, the chick fans, Kam educating us about High School Musical (I didn't even know who Vanessa Hudgens was until he mentioned....I was like wow she is pretty hot for kid), Clutch, the point forward guy, and everyone else. This site is riot.
Waay back when I registered, we weren't pre-screened. On the old board, I registered just to b**** that nobody was going to the chatroom... In the offseason. Stupid newbie.
It used to be easy following Drexler and the Blazers in Portland. Not so much when he moved to Houston. I used to post on some random Rockets bbs on AOL in 97 or something and someone said to join Clutchcity.com I'm not sure that was the original site or not either.
i signed up because I wanted to convince Clutch to let me host his glorious site on my server and spend buttloads of hours keeping it running to the point my wife would move her site off the server and divorce me over it, and Clutch would say public on his site that I'm nothing but a lying, cheating ******* for hosting his site. yep, that was my idea.
Wow. Are you Al Gore? I saw it on a computer in my college's computer lab in '96, fresh after it all started... The rest is hysterical.
astros.com and astrosdaily boards suck. wanted to talk stros for the upcoming season and was told there is some good in-game on this board. also want to talk some rockets, but it's hard to because rockets discussion has become a bit oversaturated here with all the yao followers (not that it's a bad thing). i've also become a bit addicted to checking this hangout section though. great site for h-town sports all around.
some things never change. /me kids I didnt have to give a reason, I joined after regularly reading at the OLD OLD precursor to clutchcity.com (the name escapes me atm) and lurking at the original bbs till it changed over to the bbs we have now. I didnt actually register for quite some time, but that wasnt a problem since the board was never closed unless it was down. I registered for some reason, think it had to do with wanting to post about some news on Hakeem back when the rumors about trading him first started....but damn it has been so long, I'm not sure that is correct...doesnt really matter I suppose.
My goodness!! You are psychic. What will I be when I grow up? You must know! You can see the future! I don't remember what I said.. probably something about loving basketball and wanting to talk about the Rockets with other people who love basketball.
Me too, it was called back to back championships,...and something Gore invented. I don't remember clutchcity.com being hard to find back then. Lurked most of the time since.
I joined right after Tmacs 13 points in 33 seconds. I was searching for video of it and I think someone in my dorm gave me the link to the bbs. At the time you could only view the board if you registered so I signed up. Best value for my ten bucks.
