Beating Double Dragon 3 is actually a pretty big accomplishment. The final boss is helluva tough.

    Mostly Snes games for me:

    Super Tecmo Bowl
    Final Fantasy 3
Street Fighter and it's many incarnations
Tetris Attack which is by far the greatest puzzle game ever invented.

Castlevania (never did like the sequals)
all the TMNT game except the first one (as discussed in previous thread, hard as hell)
    Mario 3
    Mike Tyson's Punch Out
    Adventure Island

funny story, i actually owned a Famicom before owning a Nintendo because I got it as a gift when I was in the Philippines. Anyways, when I got to the states, it was hard for me to get games so I'd get them when a family member would go to the Phillippines and bring me back a few games. Couldnt believe a few times, I'd get those 10 games on 1 cartridge or hell even 100 games on 1 cartridge. To this day, I still do not know how they fit all of the games on 1 cartridge.

Also, I got Mario3 before it came out here in the states. Told friends at school and they didnt believe me, brought it to them, and they thought I was god. Then again, I had to explaing the difference between a Famicom and a Nintendo. :D

I was pretty young when I started playing NES games, so I can't really say what my favorite was, although I do remember playing and enjoying several of the games mentioned already (Mario, Zelda, FF, Metroid, etc.). Most of my nostalgic memories don't really start until the SNES/Genesis generation (Final Fantasy 4+6, Zelda, Sonic/Mario, Metroid, etc.)

when i was a youngyin, i thought those green "trees" were giant inanimate turtles. Whenever I play some old school emulation, sometimes it gets pretty difficult to recognize what things are, whereas back in the day I knew what they were.

Mario Games. I didn't play Zelda until after Zelda 64. It was still good.

As far as 2600 games go, I just remember buying Asteroids the day it was released. It was a big deal back then.

    I have a working 2600 and about 70 games.

My favorite 2600 games as a kid were:
    Adventure
    Superman
    Yar's Revenge
    Missile Command
    Pitfall

Those were the days my friend.
    :( :D  :)

    Double Dribble, Track and Field.

I bought one of those controllers with all the games from a mall kiosk. It has Track and Field, Contra, Super Mario, Paper Boy, and a lot of other Nintendo Games.

Man, I totally forgot about that one! I remember if you threw more than 10 fastballs, the pitchers arm would get tired. I also liked the screwballs that would hit the dirt, making them impossible to hit. Loved how all the players looked morbidly obese in that game.

Excite Bike...forgot about that one too...I had so many games it was ridiculous. I thought of a few others I enjoyed other than Kid Icarus, Baseball, Double Dribble, Kung Fu, Castlevania and RBI Baseball which have already been mentioned. A few that haven't been mentioned: Ninja Turtles, Donkey Kong, and Rad Racer.

    A boy and his blob
(damnit, all the good ones have been mentioned already...)

Super Mario 3, Double Dragon, Contra, Zelda, Castlevania, Track & Field.

One of my all time favorites though was called 3D World Runner. It came with a set of those 3d glasses that you wore when you played. This game was really ahead of it's time. :D

    ill play.

Ikari Warriors - I never had this game. My neighbor had this game. This game was the best game I ever played because I love the two player games. I could never beat it though. I beat Ikari Warriors III. That game sucked.

MegaMan II and III. I can beat Mega Man II in twenty-thirty minutes. Does anybody know the trick in Mega Man III where if you hold down the left button on controller stick two, you can die, without dying? Or some crap like that?

I prefered Mario 2 over Mario 3 because of the colors, and brightness, and the fact that you can choose who you wanted. Princess was my favorite player because she could float for five seconds, though Luigi could fly for five seconds. Luigi was the quickest at pulling up roots.

Ill admit it, I could never beat Super Macho Man.

TJ, if you like that you should check out this band called The Mini-Bosses. They play all old video game songs.

    Mini-Bosses

edit: You can download two samples from their new stuff and then lower on the page are some old ones. The new Contra and Castlevania songs are SICK.

SNK Baseball Stars was the ultimate GPA destroying machine. We had ten guys living in these Vanderbilt mini-houses and 6 of us would have monthlong tourneys against each other...plus you would wait until everyone else was crashed out and play the Pink Ladies over and over again to get cash to build up your team.

I went from a 3.2 GPA to a 2.2 GPA in one semester of the friggin game.

I would so destroy you in that game. Back in the day, I made Alan Pinkett an all-star. :)

My favorite games were Pro Wrestling, Tecmo, and (for the Genesis) Cyberball.

If you're really into video game remixes, just go here: http://www.ocremix.org/list.php?type=remixes&sort=gameasc

They have, literally thousands of free mp3 remixes of songs from the NES, SNES, Genesis etc. games you loved as a kid. The quality of the music is really good, and if you're anything like me, you'll be hooked and constantly downloading in no time. Enjoy.
