Yep, I'm such a damn geek that I'm requiring to know Rockets fans favorite HP book AND movie. So what did you like? What disappointed you about your favorite book vs favorite movie? Or were they the same? Here is the other poll!
As I said in the other thread, Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince just left so much detail out that it really disappointed me in the theater. OotP is the longest book in the series and (technically) the shortest movie. I really would have liked to have seen more. When I think about going back and re-watching Harry Potter movies, the only one that I really see myself taking time out of my day to watch is Sorcerer's Stone. Nostalgia, everything is new all over again, Richard Harris as Dumbledore, good stuff.
For me, from Azkaban on I saw the movies getting better and better. The first two films were great in introducing the world to audiences. But they lacked any true substance. Azkaban changed the game, and from that point on, the HP universe had a soul. And even though things were left out of the books, they still did good on the films. OotP could have been my favorite if they hadn't rushed the Occlumency parts. Half Blood Prince would have been tops if the ending didn't fall flat (only letdown in Alan Rickman's performance the whole series). Deathly Hallow's II was good but all action. I give it to Deathlow Hallows PtI. It may be a bit long, but it had so many good character defining moments, the mood was perfect, several emotional moments. I just wish they kept his goodbye to the Dursley's. Out of all the movies though, I find myself watching OotP the most for some reason. That is probably my favorite ending out of all the movies. Gut wrenching to watch his inner battle with Voldemort.
