What was the last 1st round pick by the Rockets that you were happy with?

    Fans look at the draft board that states "Marcus Morris PF 6-9" and go bonkers.

    Which is odd, because I've ALWAYS pegged him as a small forward who could play the 4 at times. But apparently most people believe otherwise.

    I was happy with Patterson last year.

    I'm not unhappy with Morris, I just have doubts about him transitioning to SF successfully. If he can guard NBA SFs, then it will end up being a good pick.

    Good point. For some reason Stevie slipped my mind. I was definitely happy to acquire him, even if it meant giving up Dickerson.

    Wrong. JT was the early 2nd rounder, Chase was a mid 2nd rounder.

    If I'm not disappointed in a Rockets pick then it has no chance of working out. Except Patterson last year; at that point we'd known better than to question Daryl Morey. Thankfully he got back on his game this year and found a way to piss most of us off. I wanted Singleton personally, Leonard #2, but after Morey picked Morris I said to myself, "Guess I'm wrong again." Morey's just that good now, if he picks somebody I already know I misjudged that player.

    I'm not really disappointed with the Morris pick. There weren't a lot of great prospects in this draft and I wasn't high on Leonard. Marcus should have a solid career and I felt the same way about drafting Patterson.

    Pretty even keeled during most drafts. I generally don't feel extremely positive or negative in any draft. Although I tended to be more negative during CD's tenure, and more positive during Morey's for obvious reasons.

    That said, the last draft that I was TRULY excited about was the Eddie Griffin draft. Did a little jig in front of my computer when it happened.

    After that, the next time I was really excited was when we picked Rudy Gay. And before I had time to celebrate, I got the horrendous news.

    Patrick Patterson. He was my guy besides Demarcus Cousins in that draft. Really wanted him and now really want him to be the starter because he is the better defender than Scola and can nearly provide as much scoring.
