Well I was sold VanVleet was an All Star point guard (will teach Amen, Green how to distribute). It looks to me the team, fans want him to be Augustin and hold their hands when they drive and run into a dead end. You (GM) go out and get Monte Morris for that.....secure Brook Lopez for that DPOY candidate playing that drop coverage instead of Sengun. I said, get Brook Lopez 1 or 2 seasons at $30M each year. I believe he signed back with the Bucks at $25M. The tanking tax plus a little extra plus no state income tax probably could have had Lopez from $30M to $32M for that Udoka defense first mindset. Get us shooters with the rest. ____________ VanVleet: (reputation) *Good at chasing ball handlers around the screen. Ok, about 5'10", hard to screen. [Apache] I'll give him that. *Can hld his own vs Bigs when forced to switch and the Big takes him near the rim. [Apache] Orlando made a conscious effort to keep the ball high. Barbecue chicken. Teams are going to attack him often here. Houston lacks all those stretch wings that cover this major flaw of being too tiny. *Heavy hands [Apache] those heavy hands don't strip the ball from the Bigs if they keep the ball high and 5'10" VanVleet needs a ladder to disrupt a bigger player laying it up or dunking it. *Gets blocks [Apache] Raptors fans say he gets credited for blocks often during those strips of the Bigs as teams forced the switch. Doesn't get credit for a block if the Bigs keep the ball high. *Gets steals [Apache] he does gets steals. Will get less with Houston because Udoka will play less defensive zones as Nick Nurse does. Nick Nurse probably has his team play more zone defense than everyone except probably the Miami Heat. *Knowledgeable and wil teach our young player proper like [Apache] didn't teach the young players of the Raptors. Scotty Barnes, Boucher, Malachi Flynn, O.G. Anunoby, Precious, Kokolo The teammates/fans claim the opposite. Will VanVleet find Amen as a threat to take his job before year two? *Slow Pace not much on fast breaks [Apache] our team needs to run. Athletes to run. Not efficient enough to be slower than everyone else.
