U2 -- Joshua Tree Tour, the Summit, 6th row (my buddy was called onstage to play guitar during "People Get Ready" and we got backstage passes)
U2 -- Elevation Tour, Arrowhead Center in Anaheim, SRO section
REM -- 21st row, Document tour, some smallish arena in Houston that I can't remember
Jeff Buckley -- the old 9:30 Club (when is was the size of a basemant) in Washington, DC
Radiohead -- Greek Theater in LA, 2001 I think
Beck -- acoustic show (but with a full band) at a small theater in LA
Tenacious D -- the Roxy in LA way before they had an album and Jack Black got annoying
Prince (yes, Prince) -- 12th row, the Lovesexy Tour, the Summit
Gathering of the Tribes -- 1990, Supposedly the concert that gave Perry Farrell the idea for Lollapalooza, the Shoreline Ampitheater in the Bay Area -- Soundgarden, the Cramps, Iggy Pop, Ice T, Queeh Latifah, the Cult, the Charlatans, Indigo Girls, and others -- freaking PE cancelled
Bridge School Benefit, Halloween 1999 -- (somewhat acoustic) Pearl Jam, Neil Young, Sheryl Crow, Brian Wilson, Lucinda Williams, Billy Corgan and James Iha, Green Day, and the freaking Who

I know there are other club shows I'm blanking on right now ...

Thanks I was looking for info too. I have the December 9, 1981 video, which I guess is near the beginning of the Controversy Tour.

April 5th, 1994. I was on the fifth row.

the skies opened up on cue at the beginning of Wish You Were Here, absolutely mind boggling show.

i wanted to add the Roots at Southpark Meadows, and the Mtv Sports and Music Fest to my list. Anyone else catch that show in Austin?

    Queen rocks.

So, pasox2, you know there is a Queen party at Valhalla on the Saturday of every anniversary of Freddie's birthday....complete with like 6 TVs and VCRs of some pretty amazing moments.

    can't miss.

My mom took me to see the Stones back in the day, like 1970. Her sitter cancelled at the last minute, and there was no way she was missing it, so she brought me along...She was convinced I had to have gotten a contact high from everything in the air...Of course I don't remember a thing, but it is quite possible that I was stoned at a Stones concert in their prime...beat that, I dare ya.

In terms of my post diaper concert career, it varies based on what you want out of a concert...I saw the Eagles play a hush hush gig at a tiny little roadhouse as a thank you to an old friend on his birthday that was pretty cool to be in on.

I saw Dead or Alive open for Howard Jones when I was a teen in Tampa, and it was a fantastic looking show, and DOA had just released You Spin Me Round, and HoJo was very hot on the charts at the time, and the women were amazing.

I have been to several Lollapalooza type weekend long concert fesitvals, and at one I saw Ministry, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Ice T, Sarah McLachlin ( sp?), James, the Tragically Hip, and I can't remember who else, but there were a lot of really great acts.

My best friends for a few years were a band and their girfriends, and we got to go to all kinds of concerts backstage, even on stage for several, and I was aquainted with bands like the Barenaked Ladies, Black Uhuru, etc. on a failry personal level...

To many to try and pin it down, so I'll stick with the Stones. My freaking parents saw the Beatles a combination of 3 times, and my Dad was at Shea when they played...so I'll always be in their bloody shadow. My Dad even knew the Supremes, and my mom got hit on by Bruce Cockburn, if any of you know who he is, when I was like 9.

Most of my concerts have been rodeos, Pat Green put on a kick@$$ show last year and Clint Black the year before was great.

Just saw the Lollapalooza show a week ago at the Tweeter center across the river in Jersey. Anyone who used to listen to Janes Addiction but haven't recently, they have a much harder sound with Dave Navarro. Audioslave featuring former Soungarden frontman Chris Cornell rocked the house. How that dude's vocal cords don't explode is beyond me. The Donna's, Incubus, and Queens of the Stone Age were also there. It was a helluva time and I recommend anyone in Houston to catch it at Cynthia Woods this weekend.

I was at that show -- it was 1989, I think. Great stuff. I still have a picture of my friend and I right before we left for the concert. I'm ashamed of the absolute bigness of my hair -- I must have used half a can of hairspray. But, in my defense, I was 19 and it was the eighties.

Not sure if this was the absolute best show I've ever been to but it ranks...

I saw U2, the Velvet Underground and Belly in Paris. I was really hoping when U2 sang Sattelite of Love that Lou Reed would actually come out on stage and sing with Bono but it wasn't to be.

It was back on June 26, 1993 at the Hippodrome de Vincennes, Paris, France.

Metallica and Queensryche - Justice Tour - Sam Houston Coliseum - Early ninties - The night Houston froze over.

Monsters of Rock - Van Halen, Scorpions, Metallica, and others I can't remember - Rice Stadium

    Tesla - Woodlands Pavillion

Beck - Goats Head Soup - place on westhiemer that burned down.

Does anyone remember one month years ago there were shows in the summit every weekend? I know one of the shows was Guns N Roses w/ Soundgarden, I think another was The Cult with Lenny Kravitz. I know I went to all of them I just can't remember who the four shows were.

The dates of all these shows escapes me, too much recreational fun I guess.

    his birthday.

Valhalla is the grad student pub on Rice Campus. Hard to find...no signs...but you can generally ask. The Freddie Memorial Party is all day on a Saturday.

    Thanks hp.

I know GnR played 2 nights in a row. Metallica played the Summit around that time as well, late '91/early '92.
