Thank you all for helping me to get hungry enough to run down to the local smokehouse and pick up some brisket and a diet cherry coke. Unfortunately, the blackened ribs were gone, but the brisket was fresh off the grill. Better late than never!!!

Tender strips combo from Church's. (I know, bad Isabel.) Chose to eat fast food with my husband, so he would end up eating lunch at a decent time, so he wouldn't end up eating dinner too late and missing part of the game tonight... husbands have to be the #1 cause of weight gain for women...

Since I'm having trouble starting a new thread (is anyone else having the same problem?), this seemed like the next best place to post this:

I just woke up and turned on the TV, and I'm watching this infomercial for the Flavor Wave oven. Has anyone heard of this?

    http://www.flavorwave-oven.net/

    Is it for real?

This thing seems too good to be true. If anyone has one of these and can give a review of it here, it will really help me to make a buying decision.

Why does it seem too good to be true? It claims to cook frozen foods faster than a microwave oven, while, unlike a microwave oven, keeping all the flavor of the food intact. Straight from the freezer to the Flavor Wave, and you have a meal. For example, on the informercial, the guy took two rock solid frozen ribeye steaks, stuck them in the flavor wave, and they were fully cooked in under an half an hour (I think), and they looked tasty! For you engineering nerds out there (like myself), the "secret" is that it uses all three types of heating, conduction, convection, and radiation to cook the food, where as a conventional oven uses predominantly convection to cook, hence the longer cooking times in a conventional oven.

This would be so sweet if it is as they claim. I come home from work every day, never have time to cook, and so end up agonizing over where I should go to get somethig to eat. With the Flavor Wave, you just take whatever's in your freezer (chicken breasts, steaks, ribs, even a whole chicken) stick it in the machine, and you have a meal in no time, OR SO THEY CLAIM.

    Moomoo...buy one and tell us.

I bought the Magic Pasta Cooker pot and it is quite useful.

Sonny, I work in the Reliant Energy Plaza.....so I walk to Park Shops for dumplings and Simons. Also Mai's in Foley Express. The soup rocks.

I always wondered what that place is like. I work in the same area? Is it really good? Have you ever eaten at Tony's. I think it is so overrated.

I went to Subway yesterday also. Believe it or not, I am proving that a person CAN gain weight from Subway, like me.

Footlong turkey with provolone, mayo, spicy mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, olives, s & p, o & v, oregano, and red wine vinagrette sauce all on wheat. Oh yeah, also Pepsi and Sun Chips with horrible cup of minestrone. Of course, it helps to gain weight when you're reallly skinny, like me.

Man I miss Texadelphia sooo much. That place was great, even though the non-English speaking workers never really wore gloves or rarely washed their hands. :( I always went to the one in the Village and got the classic cheesesteak with extra onions and hickory sauce on the side. (***salivating***)
I ate at Tony's once. Yes, it is a bit overrated, and the prices are ridiculous, but it's still worth it. Have you gotten a glimpse of their wine list? There's a bottle that is like 150 years old that was listed at something like $130,000. Their souffles are HUGE.

What I would give for real barbeque (Luther's, Goode Co.).....

    :( :( :(

But if you love ribs, two of the best rib restauranters are located here, Dreamland and Archibald's.

    Really? That's awesome!

That's the biggest street in all of Tuscaloosa.

It pretty much encompasses the whole city.

Anyway, that Krystal is actually really bad.

What did you think of it?

    You stop anywhere else?

No, it was about 11:00 at night, and we'd been on the road all day driving back to Waco. I liked it, but I love bad food like Krystal and White Castle. :)

I will say I want to drive through Alabama during the day, especially the eastern part. It looked beautiful as the sun was going down, but we didn't get a really good look at the state.
