Yeah, I see how the filters can get expensive. The best deal I have seen (although I haven't done much searching) has been 8 for $99. A single filter has lasted me about 3 months, so it still comes out very cheap in comparison to bottled water. In my opinion the taste makes it well worth it. I actually bought the 23 cup one, then while cleaning it I broke it, returned it and got another. They didn't even bother to open the box and check it! I should have just swapped out that filter with the old one from my pitcher! Free filter! If you want to save some money on the filters I would say either buy in quantity (like the 8 for $99) or go to the ZeroWater website and sign up for their email thing so you can get some free coupons. I think they give some that save you $5 on a filter. Pugs
Cool pugs, saw some reviews saying that they were changing out the filters every other week... Every three months is much more reasonable.
Glad I could help you out. I would think that if you use it enough (like if you have a big family), you may be changing it out more often, but I can't see changing it out every other week. Maybe monthly at the most, but even that seems unreasonable. If you're planning on getting another one, I would highly recommend the 23 cup one (the pitcher is 8 cups). The rebate expires on 1/31, so jump on that while you can. With a coupon and the rebate, it comes out to just under $20. Pugs
My fridge has a water filter, tastes better than bottled water, and MUCH cheaper. ($30 to change it out every 6months - 1yr) and I drink a gallon a day myself, so really cheap imo.
I prefer irradiated water. I aspire to be a hugely popular and immensely successful super mutant one day.
I feel Fiji has the softest taste. I heard Dasani was just tapped from NYC public system water. http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/0304-04.htm
http://watermillexpress.com 35 cents a gallon. Water goes through a 12 step process that includes reverse osmosis and ultraviolet disinfection. Plus there is one right down my street.
I am astounded by the fact that you actually have an option of "not drinking water at home" and it has 3 votes. Do you guys just like, drink all the water you can at work or something to save money?
bottled, it's Ozarka or Fiji most of it is at home filtered tap water - thank God for the filter built into the fridge
Our tap water is from the aquifers and streams around Crater Lake National Park. It taste wonderful and even in the heat of summer, it is really cold coming out of the faucet. When I lived in NM and AZ, it was the crappiest tap water so we had the 5 gallon jugs delivered.
