What type of people love or llove to hate this forum?

I never come in here.

 

He had something I haven't seen since... a charisma that was unbelievable. An ability to grab your attention and keep you riveted in your seat or on your feet. He caused millions to get interested in politics and the political process. People of many different political persuasions. It's hard to describe, really. If you are old enough to have seen him live, on TV, instead of on the poor quality material we have to look at in the historical record... or, far better, to have been able to see him in person, then no attempt at explanation would be needed.

I know that Reagan, when he was "on", was a superb speechmaker, and I respect the fact that some of you look at him as something akin to Kennedy as a speaker, those of you who grew up during his 2 terms, or were perhaps in your teen's or '20's during the '80's. And I mean no disrespect when I say that he wasn't, in any remote way, even as good as he was, the charismatic speaker that John Kennedy was. It came across on our black and white TV screens, and sure as hell came across in person. I don't know when we will have another politician comparable to him. Someday, perhaps. I doubt if I will be around to see it.
