totally agree with this post. I started watching season 1 two weeks ago and I'm down to the last disc on season 5.
These are solid BBC/Canadian offerings: Keeping Up Appearances Trailer Park Boys Also, I would recommend The Adventures of Pete and Pete
I prefer Curb Your Enthusiasm, but it might not be for everyone. If you like Seinfeld and in particular the George character constantly screw up, you should like it. The Office would be second.
So whats this Wire? Is it a story series? Or is it like Law and Order or those other crime shows where its just 'episodes'.
That show is hilarious, I just got Season 2 on DVD and I'm working my way through it. Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and The Office are all great also, you can't go wrong with any of them.
Watch all the seasons of Arrested Development and you won't regret it. <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YknjhnywGGI&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YknjhnywGGI&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
The Wire relies heavily on story and commands your attention throughout. That is one guess as to why it got poor ratings on HBO; you couldn't miss an episode nor could you jump in the middle and expect to know what was going on.
