Meanwhile Ime is running Amen out there 37.3 minutes per game Makes staggering minutes rather challenging to say the least. Maybe with a different coach.
but i dont think keeping Sengun and Amen along w a soft rebuild would work... Sengun would just get lazier and softer... and Amen would get frustrated and pissed at losing...
I'm just going with the premise that Amen is untouchable in this scenario. That is the prevailing opinion that they will take .... It's not a difficult decision if that is the case. As to the part about Durant - It is Ime who keeps putting him on the ball - It's quite clear Durant doesn't really care for it. There's no need to "Force him" off the ball - He knows is natural fit and would be much happier accepting it. Yeah, Durant as a shooter has gravity.
I really don't buy it being so toxic .... they sure look happy when things are going well. We get all these rumors and toxicity from outside only when shiit is going bad. As for the injury risk - two part answer. 1) the entire league is an injury away .... 2) He's 2nd in the league in minutes played, I think he's holding up rather well. Ime should be kicked in the nads for playing him so damn much and asking him to play on the ball so damn much. I'd much prefer to be able to limit / manage his minutes and I don't see why that isn't a possibility next year. I really don't know how much more anyone can ask for from the guy - he's played his ass off all year mostly with Ime putting him in bad situations. I imagine KD as a play finisher, not a play starter. That's where he's ultra efficient - getting off shots from his spots.
We are much like the Magic as an other person said, a level B team. The best thing todo is expand not delete or trade. (If there is something that makes us better then obviously it needs to happen). We NEED to expand the coaching staff with at least 3 positions. Offensive coordinator, three point shooting, and development. The front office needs to expand their production as well.
Trade FVV, Tari, DFS, and Adams for a PG and some fire power off the bench and hold our breath for that Nets 27’ pick I would see what return would be there for a Sengun trade. Maybe see if KAT is available
KAT has an awful contract. Goes up to 58m and the 61m over the next 2 years. You’d have to add 20m even if they took Durant in the trade. No way I trade Sengun for KAT. Knicks also have no worthwhile draft picks. Maybe in a three way trade where we get 2-3 really good picks. I trade Durant and filler straight up for KAT, if you had another deal in place for Sengun, not named Giannis.
Yeah NGL, if a dude did that a sports game here in the UK he'd probably leave in an ambulance. What a cunt. You can tell it's somebody who never played sports in their life (usually scumbags who are both sore winners and losers - awful human beings.)
lol I thought next season was the last year of his deal. Just looked and noticed he has that player option too. Gonna be a no for me
Load up for one more year with KD and Fred along with the young guys. If it’s not working, rebuild around Alpi, Amen, Bari and Reed.
Same amount of years as Durant. He could take Durant and DFS salary slots. I’d only do it if you could get a haul of draft picks for Sengun. He does stretch the floor and we’re going to suck at least next year anyway.
A 2-time all-star who is only 23 and locked long-term into a reasonable contract? Who averages 20 points a game and leads a playoff team in rebounds, assists, and blocks? Did you not see that Jaren Jackson just got 3 picks even though he's 3 years older and makes $10M+ more per year? It's really tough to judge Sengun when he's surrounded by wings who can't shoot and he has to play point guard. 23 year old Olajuwon would have trouble keeping this team out of the play-in.
I don't disagree we're going to have a rough next season as well. I just am not a fan of KAT. He's always had a reputation of being lazy. Now he can stretch the floor 100% agree there. I guess I just don't see the point in adding him to the roster
I don't dislike Sengun. I just think teams would be hesitant to do that. Obviously it's just a guess but this team is stuck in the mud at the moment. I don't think perennial lottery teams are giving up 3 first rounders for him. Obviously I could be wrong but doing that makes him the face of the franchise. Well that's why Stone should be fired. Ime doesn't need to go as well. If they do those two things first I'm cool but I'm still listening to offers. Well 23 old Hakeem wasn't a finished product and Alpi isn't either. However, to even put those two in the same sentence I can't understand. Hakeem always had an insane amount of talent He just had a temper but once he got that in check he worked an insane amount of time and we saw how it worked out. Imo a top 5 player ever who gave us rings. I just don't see that on Alpi
