Besides that they both play PF, I do not see any resemblance what so ever in their games. Eddie loves camping out at the 3 point line chucking up 3s while AMare is a power player and goes inside for easy baskets.
He needs to stay off the bud too...... That might help his intensity so he doesnt look baked on the court....
To me, good scoring big men avg about 5-7 pts from the ft line. At the current rate, neither Taylor nor Griffin can do that. I'm not down on Eddie, I'm just real about him. If Eddie turns his career around, he could be like Horace Grant with the Bulls or Donyell Marshall now. Actually, with this team, thats all he needs to be. Anything more than that is really pushing it.
This truly will be Eddie's defining year. As a rule, every HS/NCAA frosh to enter the league and become anything special has shown SOMETHING by the third year, and EG has seen more MIN his first 2 years than most of them (KG, Kobe, Tmac, Rashard, Amare...). The one notable exception is J Oneal, but he had no chance of playing with the talent at PF in Portland, unlike Eddie, who has been handed the starting role. As noted, he has a smooth, natural inside game that, for whatever reason, never translated from a dominating freshman year at Seton Hall to the NBA. Why? Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to want it enough. I have accepted the fact that EG may be a guy that needs a serious wakeup call, ala Cato, to get his act together. For the Rockets, that probably means they should cut their losses and move on at PF. Oh, and by the way, did I mention I just found out CD's stepson is the Prez of my roommate's Frat?
