    Chuck who? Chuck Hayes?

I've always loved Chuck Hayes. Even last season, I thought he should have taken more of Stro and Juwan's minutes.

Now as to Bonzi... he needs to go to the fat farm and slim down. Fat Bonzi=useless Bonzi.

I for one want to see the guy play with the team before the "playoffs". The reality is, if we wait until the second half of the season and this experiment doesn't work out, then we have lost the chance to add another piece. I'm not for rushing him back, but unfortunately, we need to see him play with this group so we can find out what we have before the trading deadline. If he doesn't fit in, at the money he is making, maybe we can use him in a trade to nab someone who will contribute!! Hopefully in "two weeks" he will be making a contribution. I'm not suggesting that we trade him, just that we start taking a good look at him in case we need to trade him. Right now this team seems to be jelling quite well. And I assume either Head or Snyder will take a back seat when Bonzi does start to play. Lots of personel questions to be answered before the halfway mark! Gonna be fun :D

Oh sorry I though your BB6 reference was to Chucky Hayes. Never mind.

C'mon man, Chucky is in good shape. BBW6= Bonzi Wells #6. He's BBW6 because, well... you saw the picture with him and the ladies. He obviously loves them BBW.

Bonzi is just Bonzi- An athlete with street mentality who is out of shape and condition. He is a Rocket's player who is not used to having the strict coaching and standards that JVG sets. Coming to the Rockets under JVG takes a major remaking of the mind set as well as a decent level of physical fitness.
Although I only believe 50% of what I hear, see and read, I understand that Bonzi Wells is working to bring hmself to the required JVG standards. the biggest hurdle to overcome is the remaking of the mindset and I don't expect JVG to be 100% successfull at this task.
The one aspect that we have working for us is the drive for more income by both Bonzi and his agent. If Bonzi refuses to be coached and expects to only show what he brings to the table [court] during the playoffs, he is very much mistaken because JVG is the type of coach who wouldn't let this happen.
So in conclusion I expect Bonzi will get fit and play in the near future and make a major contribution to the team both in the regular season and in the playoffs. :p

I agree with you when you say that our stars/potential attract free agents. But I disagree when you say that trading a known malcontent like Bonzi will nullify our attractability to FAs. First of all, the only kind of FAs we can get are LMEs and their ilk. Secondly, we still have the charisma of TMac, the lure of playing on a championship calibur team, and time heals old wounds and people forget. Do we really want some role player that is holding a grudge for us trading another player?

I do agree that this guy is the hidden ace, especially when the playoffs role around. He will be playing for his contract and be on his top behavior. He doesn't want to end up like Sprewell.

But if a good trade comes around, we don't pass.

Umm, Bonzi signed after we traded Swift. Didn't seem to deter him.

major props to coach jvg for admitting to a mistake. so many on this bbs claim that jvg is too negative and always blames his players and doesn't accept any blame. well, this is proof that jeff does own a mirror.

Van Gundy needs to let Bonzi know how important he is to the team. Play him and play him soon. As bad as a disgruntled semi-star might be, it would be tough (and probably foolish) to deal Bonzi for anything of equal value. The Rockets need this guy on the floor. The team is good without him, but they can be great with him. C'mon Bonzi we need you!

If Bonzi doesn't hurry up and get himself into playing shape, they better somehow get him and Juwan into a trade for an expiring contract of some sorts.

there is nothing to do about bonzi.

    bonzi will be fine

trade him? why? because he's got a bad attitude? has ANYONE on the rockets said that he has been a cancer? Van gundy has no problems standing up to his players, has HE said anything about Bnzi going out of line? have the rockets fined bonzi an undisclosed amount for behavior detrimental to the team?

because he has a bad groin? if so the rockets sure as hell knew about this, they did a physical on him, and if they didn't feel he was capable to perform at all they simply woudn't have signed him.

the rockets knew what they were getting in Bonzi

amen to that. i remember we talked about this at the game bout vspan and wells. coach gave us something to chew on, let us see them, let them see how they fit in the rotation and the speed of the game, then yanked them out for since then.

look, we're a 9 rotation playing team. i HIGHLY doubt we'll go the full 12 unless its like...end of the season and we're sitting comfortably at the 1-4th seed.

bonzi is a great guy, he's professional and he/snyder are the perfect guys to let tmac sit his 10 mins a game. bonzi is gonna play and i honestly give it 1 more week. shoot, he might just play against the heat, who knows!

As long as we make it to the playoffs, he'll help get us out of the first round. even if he only plays good in the playoffs, that's worth the 2.1 mil that the rockets are paying him.

Say no to trading Bonzi. At least not just yet. The guy has barely even played with the Rockets. He's still getting into shape. I think we should be a little bit more patient with him since we know that he could be a nutcase sometimes. He'll come around for us soon enough, just wait.

If we trade him now for not being productive this early, then we might as well ship TMac too, after that 3rd game, right? But seems like TMac is showing signs of waking up again. The same thing will happen with Bonzi.

Once Bonzi is back to form and back to our 6th man, we'll be quite a force in the West.
