I got 'downsized' in Sep 02. Had to fight the suckers for unemployment for 3 months before I finally got it.
morgan quitno press is a left wing radical nutjob organization spewing propaganda and lies. don't you know that 9-11 happened in nyc? what's wrong with stupid new yorkers, they hate christmas and love bin laden. there are so many terrorist cells waiting to prey on innocent tourists. believe it.
personally, i prefer the hot chocolate festival at city bakery on 18th street. about half the price too.
Corned Beef on rye and a Doctor Brown's cream soda at Second Avenue Deli, 2nd Avenue at 10th Street. Oh yeah.......
Y'know, next time I am in NYC, I am going to have to do the definitive point-by-point comparison of Second Avenue Deli vs. Katz's Deli. It's been a while since I've been to Katz's. I just hope I can still fit into my clothes when I am done!!
the G train goes from Queens to Carrol Gardens, one of Brooklyns nicest neighborhoods... so if you are going to suggest someone ride into the ghetto, they might want to take the "L" train to East New York... all these "what to do in NYC" threads turn out the same. "dont get robbed" "watch your wallet" blahblahblah... leave the bubble and experience something real
A good friend just bought an apartment in Clinton Hill, right off the G train. We went out a few weeks ago to check it out. I was amazed at how the neighborhood has changed and grown since I first moved to Brooklyn 13 years ago. Felt safe, walked around and had a great meal in Bed Sty. Go figure
gbritton here's a web site with info to a lot of what the clubs are doing on New Years. http://www.clubnyc.com/NewYearsEve/
Not only that, but Bin Laden hates Christmas. He sent back my card with all the jesuses xxxxed out. No, but seriously...NYC is a great place to live. I live in Hell's Kitchen and have yet to meet Satan or his minions. Or get mugged. And I walk my dog in Central Park before 6am and after 9pm every day (leash law not enforced.)
I ride the G train almost daily.. I love Clinton Hill/Fort Greene. my friends live right off the clinton/washington ave stop... 5 -Spot, Castros, Cellars, they are great restaraunts in that neighborhood... I have never had any problems whatsoever in 7 years of living in this magical, magnetic city. I have lived in Harlem, Brooklyn, and now Washington Heights...
