Gay would have matured faster by playing significant minutes with Mac and Ming. He wouldn't have to do so much just barely under average. Hell is better than BOWEN. JVG WILL NOT START BOWEN OVER GAY.
I think Gay would be like T-Mac in Toronto. He will be playing under a better player in McGrady, he won't ever be able to be "the man" and will leave after his rookie contract anyway.
I am planning to sue Jerry West. Is there any lawyer here can help me? My main grievance is that Jerry West brutally bully a naive and blind CD twice without any mercy. Once last summer for getting them to sign Swift, and then again this year to cheat CD again to giving him Rudy Gay and also give back Swift. What is worse is that Jerry West even forces CD to sing praise of him afterwards!
The same can be said in any draft, but you also have to take into consideration that a few of those teams had other needs and after those needs were filled, there are any players that are better than Gay. Now that we're down to 2 or 3 guys (maybe), ask yourself this: Is it wise to trade our 1 year free agent "bust" that has an identical, yet shorter contract, puts up identical numbers to Battier AND that one guy that has yet to play one NBA minute for a mediocre, career long role player? Then take into consideration that we have no bench and few talented young players. Get ready to head back to the lottery. Maybe we can just forfeit our pick and save the misery of it all.
What is there to test? We know he is a very good player. But that was JVG call and everyone knows it. So if he didnt want him, what makes you think he would take out the time to work with him and give him the chance to prove himself?
Help me out with something, because I thought that Tmac and Yao are still on the team? How do we go to the lottery again? DD
I guess 15 GM did not think highly of Kobe. Only thing this shows is how brilliant Jerry West is. 5 years from now, Rox will be the laughing stock just like those who passed Kobe, even worse, Rox will be remembered as the team passed on a super star.
Yeah, so?? Trade him or keep him as T-Mac injury insurance (which appears very likely to be needed). How anyone can applaud giving away the chance to have an extremely talented player for a dime-a-dozen type of player I can't understand. Maybe we shouldn't have kept Hakeem because we already had Ralph Sampson.
Huh? We are not drafting for 5 years from now, Tmac may be done by then, we are trying to win now. Look at the history of the draft Take a look at that link, look how many draft picks panned out? NOT THAT MANY !!!!!! Taking a known commodity over a future one is good business in the Rockets case. DD
How do you know that Rudy Gay will be a talented NBA player, have you looked at the history of the draft, and how many players actually pan out, especially at the 8th pick or lower? And, how many contributed in their first year? DD
