I think ZRB's tone and Rudy-hating history is getting in the way of some people looking at this objectively. Granted, I *did not* see the game... but nobody has denied that Rudy indeed took out the starters w/3 minutes left. That's ridiculous. 20, sure... take 'em out w/3 minutes. But down by 11? You can win that game without fouling. It's not like the Rockets don't have any 3 point shooters. A couple 3's... and that's a very close game. Any other ideas besides "injuries" as to why Rudy would have done this? ------------------ Shandon Anderson rocks. The lottery sucks. Playoffs 2001.
I agree with you Haven. I have shown much "disapproval" with Rudy's coaching this year, and I suppose a lot of you don't really take this point seriously. YOU DON'T GIVE UP ON A WINNABLE GAME. Giving up is not setting a good example for such "young" players. It is demoralizing. Yes the players did own up for their mistakes. They were horrible the first three quarters. Then, when they finally made some progress in the fourth, they were pulled. Of course, they would never have been in that situation is Rudy had used a double team on McGrady, but that is another issue... ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
I'd have pulled em', too. You don't go down 25 pts to the friggin' Magic. If they're out there to embarrass themselves, better to embarrass them by sitting them on the bench. I don't know, maybe I'm just tired of being .500. ------------------ Sometimes I think I'd be better off dead. No, wait, not me...you.
