Come now, you realize that even the Shaq/Kobe Lakers couldn't win four in a row. Do you honestly think that the Bulls would have won eight?! Other teams adjust too fast in the NBA nowadays, the Bulls would have fallen, if not by the Rockets, than by someone else (how convenient Jordan's defeat at the hands of Orlando is dismissed as him being out of shape). The early 90's and late 90's teams were also completely different, with the later team being clearly superior to the earlier one. If Jordan stayed, there's no guarantee that second dynasty could have been put together effectively. If anything, Jordan's year off gave him time to charge his batteries and extended his career.
Well, it was more like Shaq, Penny, and Nick the Brick. That said, MJ came back the next year with a vengeance...
I'd have to go with Kareem and Magic. And Dr. J did move to SG his last few year(s). I believe he primarily played SF when Moses was there and they won a Championship (Andrew Toney was the SG and Clint Richardson was the backup guard) though. Maybe it was when the got Barkley that he moved to SG? And yes for a while CB4 was a SF, but it was more because the Sixers tried to play 3 PFs at the same time (I hate thinking about Gilliam at C) when Ruland got hurt.
Yup. If you watched that series, MJ clearly wasn't what he used to be. Sure he put up some good numbers, but when watching him on TV, he was not the same MJ that left. The outside shot wasn't there, the explosion wasn't what it used to be, and he hesitated in the clutch. After a summer of intense workouts and the addition of Rodman, the Bulls went from 2-4 losers to Orlando, to 72-10 and a 4-0 sweep of Orlando.
I'm not saying they would have won 8 in a row, but a sharp Jordan would have killed the Magic/Knicks in 95/94 And what a series that never was, Rockets/Bulls oh and I vote Wilt/West
agree, and i think MJ is better than Dream if not retired. before his retirement, MJ just seemed unbeatable.
