If for some crazy reason, Yao Ming was no longer a Rocket or the Rockets were contracted (or basically closed down). I would say.... 1) Miami Heat He'd fit really well with them, they'd already have a superstar with up-coming 2nd and 3rd year players...who are already a somewhat competitive team, yet you throw in Yao Ming...that would instant be the favorites in the East. Yao Ming, Udonis Haslem (or Jermaine O'Neal), Michael Beasley, Dwayne Wade, and Mario Chalmers. 2) Atlanta Hawks It seems like this team has everything, except for a great big man. Horford is good decent one, but he is more of a power forward playing out of position. I know he would slow them down a bit, but he would work for them. Yao Ming, Al Horford, Josh Smith, Joe Johnson, and Michael Bibby. Both of those teams, right now, would give Boston a run for the money. ANd, both would annihilate the Cavs and Magic. Especially the Magic. That front line would overwhelm alot of teams, even the Lakers. 3) Chicago Bulls I don't think they would be good enough to win the East, but they would be pretty competitive. Yao Ming, Tyrus Thomas, Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, and Derrick Rose (Kirk Hinrich).
QUOTE=killer instinct]If Yao should leave because he will never live up to the expectations of Houston, like winning a ring before ten years in the league like it took Dream, what team would you like to see him on? Besides Houston! For the Yao lovers and haters. Just forecasting for his future free agency.[/QUOTE] JUST PLAIN STUPID OR A LAKERS FAN.[ No Rockets Fan would ask sucha question, especially just before the playoffs.
Yao and Lebron on the same team would make all their games take 5 hours to play since they'll be shooting 50FT's a game while David Stern is breathing down his refs' necks. I wish the NBA wasn't so reputation-driven. Like Yao's reputation of being "soft".
Whats up with all these threads? I thought this was a ROCKETS FAN SITE, not a Yao Fan site, or a Tracy Fan site. Wait....
People complaining about this thread are exactly the people should leave Houston to get away from IMO. You people are UNGRATEFUL and what would your terrorist funding idol think about that? Well maybe he found that answer in Toronto when like Tmac his body was failing him but his ego was bigger than ever. I would love to see him with D Wade because I think he is a good player who deserves more than the prima donnas who were HOF's before they ever played.
Why are people so upset and so offended by the OP's question? It's a simple question and, from what I've seen, I didn't think many people even care for Yao. In fact, it's the opposite. Should the Rockets lose in the first round again, people will be calling for Yao's head, saying he's the softest big to ever play the game and we should trade him for peanuts and picks. I never really thought about Yao leaving the Rockets but if he does, I imagine Denver. Someone already said that Yao is their last missing piece and I agree that that is the case for now. Then Cleveland, then Miami. Whatever it takes for Yao to win a ring without T-Mac, I'm in.
Lakers. Going to a big city with a huge asian population will be so good for the league and would be unimaginably great for the Lakers franchise. Imagine having Kobe and Yao, two of the biggest icons in China, on the same team. Phil Jackson has been quoted saying that he wish he had Yao on his team before the Lakers got Gasol and saying that he wished Bynum was as hardworking as Yao. For people saying that Yao won't fit in the triangle, that's probably the case, but Jackson adapted his offense to fit Shaq and it worked pretty well still.
