This is the second time this kind of thread has popped up, Probably the same person with a different account.

See the thing with these posts is that nobody should feel the need to take it seriously, he obviously is not a true Rockets fan. Just a bandwagon fan, or a Laker fan trying to mock us. But nobody should care, and this thread should be deleted like now. So guys, just don't throw him a bone, just let him get back to his new favorite team.. anyway, with all of this said..

    DUDE JUST GTFO ;)

Why Lakers though, it's not like they're doing well atm...

    I don't think, therefore, that this dude's a bandwagoner.

    Just a homer/"troll"

Match-ups make underdogs. The only teams you can call underdogs in the regular season are the overachieving ones since they'll be underdogs whoever they match up with. The teams in the running right now are either good veteran teams or up-and-coming ones, except, maybe, Portland, but that team's got as much emotional baggage as the Rockets.

Kobe. Reading this thread made me realize that the guy, for all the crap he's gotten, really was the Jordan of this generation and I'd like to catch whatever's left of his career.

    It's called loyalty, you asswipe.

If you're going to root for the ******* Lakers, then head to Lakersground, which is nothing but 24/7 Kobe worshipping. I respect Kobe, despise his fans with the passion of a thousand suns, and so going on about how he's the Jordan of this generation(which he isn't) is just pathetic.

    The Rockets.
    First and foremost.

Sure, they're not going too good this season.
And the future doesn't look as bright as other franchises' do.

But i spent a fair bit of money to get over here to Houston and see a few live games - just because they're losing doesn't mean i'm going to follow them any less.

I'm still happy just to be over here cheering them on in person.

    ...

That being said - when the playoffs roll around i will be hoping the Thunder go well. That is of course if the Rockets don't qualify.

Probably the Rockets seeing as I'm a fan.

    Fan being short for fanatic.

Me being fanatical about the Rockets.

You give up on the team when they are bad just stay away when they are good. Part of fanhood is riding out the hard times.

Rockets, Suns, Lakers, Celtics, Kings, Spurs

tired of doing all the colors, but seriously to answer the OP, I will always be rooting for the Rockets no matter what happens

But I do follow Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors closely

I stuck with the Rockets through worse. It's frustrating watching them play sometimes, but I'm still unlikely to miss any games.

On a side note, I started following the Knicks when Steve Francis was traded there and have continued to do so. I know it's not the same as your all time favorite team sucking, but if I supported the Knicks the last couple of years, these last few Rockets seasons haven't been that bad.

That's not the same as what the OP suggested...you specifically asked who would you root for, not what other team will you check out other than Houston. Personally, if you aren't keeping up with the team anyway, then you're a fair-weather fan, period. I understand not watching all 48 mins or every single game because it's tough to watch, but you should still be following the team in some way from game to game and rooting for them to win, even if you think they won't. You can do that and still catch other action or players around the league.
