Rafer had a decent long ball. Ish is like a poor man's Rubio with an even worse shot than a poor man's Rubio. A homeless man's Rubio as you would.

He is a bad scorer.nSome games he will make some and miss some.

He does not attempt 3 pointers

In 4 years he attempted 69 treys and hit 15 (21.7%)

For better or for worse - he's our backup PG.

Here's to hoping he can create easy shots for others and occasionally bang in a 3.

I remember his preseason game vs. IND, when we just exploded with dunks galore from Courtney and CBud. Still puts a smile on my face to remember that.

Then 5-6 games into the season, he was already starting for us because both Brooks and Lowry were injured. That was Adelman's last year with us.

I think we packaged him together with AB on that trade to the Suns to get Dragic. Of course with Dragic here, we forgot all about him. But like AB before him, here is Ish making a comeback. Hope Morey sticks with him this time though.

With all the shooters on our team, what we need is a playmaker to get them the ball in their right spots. He's one of the most creative out there. An occasional lay-up to keep his defender honest. McHale already loves him.

He was bundled with Battier in the end of season trade with Memphis.

I like him but he's not a good fit in our offense.

How is he not a good fit? We really don't need his offense, but he's a good defender, good at finding the open man and is lightning fast. I see more opportunities for our shooters with him on the floor than with Canaan.

Every year a new theme - Last year - New Age - All Offense Little Defense

This year - A lot of Defense - Selective Offense

I think it's silly that people think the offense isn't going to be great. The Rockets lost Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons.

They are hardly world-beaters on offense.

Chandler was replaced by Ariza, who has a comparable offensive game and similar stats.

Most of the offense comes from the style of play. Running the fast break and getting open looks from 3. That's why the Rockets' offense was so good last year. It was the system. It's easy to score with their style of play.

    Their offense will be fine.

Here's why some of the vets here are a little skeptical but are still hoping things pan out: notwithstanding his contract, Jeremy talent wise and fit are superior to our backup PGs. Ish and Canaan are incredibly unproven and not what you want on a win now team. The Rockets are banking on a lot of what ifs going right when it comes to their bench. In a perfect scenario, every bench player outperforms their contracts and expectations and adequately replace Lin and Asik factoring in their expensiveness. In the worst case scenario, they underperform, fold under pressure and the Rockets are unable to find that 3rd star and we lose again in the 1st round. I've been here long enough to see this song and dance before. High expectations going into the season built on a lot of what ifs: health, growth, coaching, only to flame out in the 1st round yet again.

Ish was the backup PG for Phoenix last year and did pretty well. He's probably a downgrade from Lin, but not a huge dropoff. Ish is perfect for our system. He's gonna run for days with Papa, Adrien, and Daniels.

Speaking of them, I think all three of them are big upgrades over Casspi, and Garcia. The ball movement should be fantastic with Papa, Ish, and DMo on the floor. I really do think our bench may actually be better than last year despite the loss of Lin and Asik. Well mainly Lin. Asik was almost a net zero for us in the reg season. So losing him doesn't really hurt our reg season projection all that much.

I predict his performance will be similar to Lin's as our backup PG.

Ish will be very frustrating at times with turnovers/lack of offense/etc., but he'll make enough plays to where he's worth the frustration to a degree.

I actually think he has better court vision than JLin.

i think we have enough guys who jack up 3's.

if he can consistently penetrate & dish i'm OK with that.

I like him but it's just so hard to carve out minutes for a guard with no jump shot. Ish also brings average defense at best and he's below average at finishing around the rim - 49% last season. He's been around the league long enough to know that these aren't problems that are just going to fix themselves. I'd take a chance on Canaan, who sucks but might eventually grow into a decent backup by the end of the season.

So think a combination of Ish and Terry will more than offset LIN. ISH with his pass first abilities and Terry with his shooting.
