Bloc Party's new album is a somewhat of a disappointment comparing it to Silent Alarm. But then again its hard to match the greatness of that first album.

At this moment I'm listening to: Architecture in Helsinki- "Do the Whirlwind"

I like the new sound, somehow.

AIH is like the best memory I've ever had for a show. Going with my closest friends to their show at Emo's and dancing like idiots during "It'5" (perfect cause there were five of us) and doing our rendition of the whirlwind (flailing around in circles) during "Do the Whirlwind..."

Ahh, yes, we were kinda buzzed.

I loved the first Bloc Party album and I am really looking forward to this 2nd album. If it is halfway as good as the first one then I will be happy.

"Ambulance Blues" - Neil Young (I am going through my Neil Young playlist on my iPod)

Listening to music with my son this morning.

We are rocking out to Johnny Cash's childrens album right now.

    "Dinosaur Song" is currently playing.

We might break out the "Rockabye Baby - Nirvana" or "Sesame Street 35 Years of Music" next.

We throw down when Mom isn't home...

radio phnom penh - 'multi-pop indigenous'

collection of field recordings of vietnamese radio - there's a label called sublime frequencies which puts out these volumes of sound collages from all over the world - from what i understand, its basically a group world travelers recording stuff directly off the radio from where ever they may be onto tape recorders and editing it all together.

    http://www.sublimefrequencies.com/

there's a bunch of these - i also have morraco, thailand (some of the most psychedellic stuff ive ever heard), iraq (really good - crazy violin melodies) and sumatra.

i like listening with my 5 year old. for some reason he really likes at the drive-in's relationship of command. i can't stand listening to children's music so i'm training him> when mom's not at home of course.

the icy weather has been influencing my music tastes the last hour or so.

i was listening to some mum (they are icelandic) and now jamming norweigan black metal masters mayhem's 'freezing moon' off their masterpiece album - de mysteriis dom sathanas. this song contains one of the most evil and depraved guitar solos of all time!

    Everything here is so cold
    Everything here is so dark
I remember it as from a dream
In the corner of this time

    Diabolic Shapes float by
    Out from the dark
I remember it was here I died
    By following the freezing moon

It's night again, night you beautiful
I please my hunger on living humans
Night of hunger, follow it's call
    Follow the freezing moon

Darkness is growing, the eternity opens
    The cemetary lights up again
    As in ancient times
Fallen souls, die behind my steps
    by following the freezing moon
