The more times I listen to it, the more I like it. It doesn't jump out at you like "Silent Alarm" but you have to be patient. Tracks 3 through 5 are really good as are tracks 8 and 9. Track 9, "I Still Remember", is my favorite song of the album and maybe overall by them. It is what I am currently listening to right now!

Get it Flyer and give it at least 5 listens all the way through - don't give up on it after 2 or 3 listens.

EDIT - "A Weekend in the City", to me, is more of a concept album where each track builds off the previous one - sorta like "OK Computer" (but nowhere near that level of greatness). "Silent Alarm" is more of an album that was driven by singles - sorta like "The Bends". Maybe that comparison will help you or maybe not.

"I Want to Protect You" by Eels, which I heard on the soundtrack for the movie "Big White."

    http://www.eelstheband.com/downloads/index.asp

The Credence Clearwater Review version of "Heard it through the Grapevine" (11 min, the best part is after the actual singing)

"Ohio" by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

"Automobile Mechanic" by Tom Ball and Kenny Sultan

"Close to Your Head" - by Terra Naomi

"Clutch" by Shea Seger (3 or 4 yrs old, but catchy beat)

"Experimental Film" and "James K. Polk" by They Might be Giants

    "Boy Wonder" by Carla Ulbrecht

"Molly's Chambers" by Kings of Leon, and "Mr. Blue Sky" by ELO, which I both heard off of some really fun Volkswagen commercials a couple of years ago.

I'm also trying to track down an individual download of "One of these Days" by the Hang Ups, which I heard on the soundtrack for "Mozart and the Whale," if anybody can point me in the right direction (thanks in advance).
