    Go for it!!!

If the only harm of not advancing is an ego hit then why not.

After all, it's not any of our egos, so we won't even feel the pain.

Go for it - such coincidences as that are hard to ignore (at least for me).

    I'll play the other card.

I would definitely not do it. It's a stupid show. It will bring a stupid fame. And most importantly, as has been noted and noted, it isn't even 100% about comedy...maybe not even 50% about comedy. And you've tried before (more than once, if I remember), were very funny in your try-outs (according to mostly you, but some others as well), and you still weren't their "type".

Here's your best case scenario. You try-out. You make it to the big show. You last a few rounds. You get kicked off for some unknown reason (who knows what portions of what you say NBC will air, won't air, etc.). People either completely forget, or remember you as that comic that was kind of funny but kind of sucked.

    The end.

My friend auditioned for Last Comic Standing a year or two ago. He was shown in the outtakes of people that did not make it.

He had his shirt off and was pointing to his shoulders and said, "but I have SHOULDER HAIR."

That was it. Screw 15 minutes of fame, he got three seconds.

    Don't do it.

You're better than that. That show is beneath you. Seriously.

Jeez Louise. I really want my new girl to see your act, but my best friend is getting married that weekend. Maybe we'll hit up the late show Friday night.

Do what you gotta do man. I'd love to see you win that thing because I know you're funnier than any of the past winners. Sounds like you're doing great right now. Either way, you deserve any success that comes your way my friend. Good luck!

so for those who don't watch the show, or don't keep up with AB, he went for it, the show was aired 2 weeks ago, I was about to make a video compliation but youtubed it first and AB beat me to it, you be the judge

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UxnAen7wBeg&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UxnAen7wBeg&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

first part is his shot from last season, and the second part from episode 2 of this season.

as always good stuff from him, but he's better off without them, and F**K Carlton!!!

Reality TV is a set up. They are looking for fools they can manipulate into humiliation so average people can laugh at them and feel superior to them. It's just cheap programming for the commercial networks, aimed at lowest common denominator, designed to draw eyeballs to advertizing.

If you were me, we'd get busy writing material about your past experiences on the show (why losers get to be judges, why fat people are funny, how it's more fixed for ratings than an NBA playoff) and just skewer the entire concept while being on the same bill.

That would be bold, that's what Bill Hicks would do. Just crush these losers for lowering the state of your art to a goofy fake comeptition.

    Art is not a competition.

I watched it and remember Billy D from the morning show on 610 with Marc and Andre. I was pulling for you man! You should have made it past a bunch of people they picked!

IMO opinion the way they pick the comics are flawed. They should have the same judges week in and out. That way they get more consistency with there selections.

Reality TV is so f**king rigged it is unbelievable. I saw that episode and didn't realize that is was AB at the time so there was no bias. My wife and I couldn't understand how Billy didn't get picked.

My friend tried out and made the "really bad rejections" footage.

He pointed to his shoulder with his shirt off and says, "but I have shoulder hair."

    Three seconds. That was it.

Good luck. I can't watch the videos at work, but I definitely agree you should go for it.

    Sure it's a crapshoot.

But you've already proved you're an accomplished comic. You're already headlining. So what's the big deal if you don't make it? No embarrassment to you because anyone who understands your business understands how the show works.

Unless you really hate it...I think you should go for it. Might be fun? Might advance? You've a pretty good shot at national exposure even if only in the early rounds.

As an aside -- I also thought you should have been picked on that episode. I also thought there were a couple of others who did really well and didn't advance.

And about your undercards having success. You taught them well. You are the master. Good luck.
