    Interesting that I am the only person voting Jew, and even then, my credentials are under attack. I don't even really count.

    One of the most common questions anyone gets asked here is "Are you Jewish?"

    If you aren't, the next question is "Why are you here?"

    I never know how to answer either question honestly.

    Father=non practicing Lutheran, lately thinks he's some kinda superstitious Catholic
    mother=agnotstic raised Southern Baptist
    There's some Jewish by way of mexico on Mom's side. Not to sound too John Kerryish...

    Godmother=Shinto-Buddhist

    I was a declared athiest most of my life, was an student of Israeli history, studied Judaism at a seminary, got an Israeli girlfriend, converted.

    Moved to Israel, girlfriend left and went back to the states, I tried to get a work visa from Israel, and they denied me my credentials, telling me that my conversion wasn't "valid." If that's sounds strange and a wee bit racist, that's because...it is.

    Luckily I have an American employer.

    So, there it is. I'm not all that religious...but I remember what they told me, once you convert it's irrevocable...

    The Muslims I know in Jaffa are much less xenophobic. They all offered to let me to convert to Islam...(which is pretty darn quick) but it not only wouldn't get me a work visa, it could likely get me deported.

    Either way, no Christmas vacation for me.

    Well, there are some Jewish posters here, they just might not have seen this thread or aren't inclined to vote in it.

    I know RocketMan Tex is, Cohen, Deji, NJRocket, and may be Batman Jones? Well, I might be wrong about some of the above names, but I know there are a few.

    LOL! Good stuff, Deji :D
