What really grinds your gears about the Rockets this season?

He's not better than God. Geezus. Some people give him too much credit.

He's just a manifestation of God's Will to move the ball around effectively and win close games.

 

What grinds my gears is that we started out soooo well. And with virtually the same team (maybe even more talent) we are playing poorly. My gears are also grinded when or players walk/jog the ball up the court. The reason we were winning so much early on was that high tempo style.

Oklahoma city. Who gave them permission to start playing like an nba team? They screwed up the playoff seeding.

 

Inconsistency!

 

Chuck Hayes. Highly overrated.

Oh wow, you can't get past him! Well guess what? He's so freaking short that almost every front court player can shoot over him, get rebounds over him, and block his shot.

Oh wow, what a great help defender! Well guess what? You need to send help for him because, despite being such a GREAT defensive player, Duncan, Howard, et al eat his lunch. Dwight Howard sees Yao Ming and runs. But Chuck Hayes? You feed Dwight the ball all day.

Now that we have Jeffries and Hill, Chuck shouldn't be seeing the light of day.

If Chuck Hayes averages more than 3 minutes a game in 2012, for any team, I'll donate $100 to the tip jar. More likely he'll be playing in China at that point.

 

but it help us get martin, hill and possibly 2 more nice prospects in the next 2 years

What grinds my gears about the Rockets this year??


Fans whining.

Whining about Yao being this or that.

Whining about how Rick Adelman hates T-Mac and won't play him.

Whining about Trevor Ariza forcing the action.(I get it, but if he just gave it to Brooks and let him do it, they would call Brooks a ballhog.... Er wait.)

Whining about Brooks taking too many shots.

Whining about our PG not getting many assists with 3 incompetent or inefficient scorers in the starting lineup.

Whining about how the old days where 4 players scored in a play-off game were better because teams didn't bracket Yao on defense and the entry pass was like playing catch in the yard with dad.

Whining about how the game was almost lost until one player saved the day like a reliever coming into the game in the 9th inning of a 2 run game with the bases loaded and nobody out.

Whining about how that reliever gave up one run but still got the save.

Whining about other teams with real live NBA talent making runs at our team when said trio of starting players who can't score are on the floor and we have a drought.

Whining about a player who ultimately takes the shot because nobody else wants to.

Whining about that same player because he hasn't made a game winner in his small handful of decent opportunities.

That's what irks me about the Rockets. Oh, and the game every blue moon where the whole team shows little to no emotional fire.

 

1. Brooks dumb passes.
2. Brooks throwing up a three with everyone else on other side of court.
3. Scola getting called for traveling when he has not.
4. The team settling for outside jumpers when they are not making them.
5. RA deciding to take the hot shooter out of the game on a nightly basis.

 

DING! DING! DING!

when coach never gets off of his lazy butt...

Budinger not playing more when he's clearly the better play on court.

Adelman giving Brooks the last second shot that is always a miss.

Brook's pathetic defense.

David Andersen. Period.

 

what grinds my gears about the rockets is....

1. lack of size & presense @ the pf. and c positions still a problem even after sf3
2. rockets being moulded into sacramento clones

3. lack of a quality and consistant shooter still a problem for Yao when he comes back
4. lack of leadership by a kobe, labron, wade, etc.... if you really want to win a championship these players are usually a big part of doing that

5. all the 3ptrs. taken, loss of leads at end of qtrs. halves, and games with no sense of urgency or effort.
6. wait till next year again!!! last year was understandable because of progress but this year morey will have to become a magician this offseason with money and players without restructuring the roster from last year that only lacked a true pf. miss you landry, would've been a real beast with yao down low with you.

 

that the fans complain THIS much about the team (evident in this thread) when they're OVERACHIEVING overall. They've played over their expectations...but the complaints : praise ratio still sucks on a supposed fan site

(and yes, many fans are exempt from this)

 

this was supposed to be what grinds your gears about the rockets not the fans but since you went there...

if your team has to over achieve to overall then maybe management is the problem not the fans because winning cures every fans illness!

when was the last time the rockets won a championship or made it to the conference finals?

just finally got passed 1st round of playoffs last year, if your happy with that then your really happy with your overachieving team. as for real rockets fans,we want a championship not a team with decade long needs not addressed.
