Yeah but he had to giveup MVP steve nash to get those guys. You could argue that the Nash/Nowitzski combo wouldn't have gone any farther than the conf. finals but both players have improved a lot since the trade took place. I'd say he got lucky with jason terry. That would be like us trading Mcgrady for 3 decent players and hope they play incredibly well.

i hate the mavs and Cuban is annoying.

that said, Mark Cuban's ownership is the face of what's right in the NBA. if u're a bb fan, not just a Rocket (or whatevah team) fan, i think he translates.

Cuban is the main reason I hate the Mavs followed closely by Dirk. The look on Cuban's face when the Heat started to come back was priceless. :D On the flip side, he is a good owner who treats his players good and the fans are happy because Dallas puts a quality product on the floor.

Next year if T-mac or Ming get hurt again Rockets fans will be screaming for a competitive team that can actually inspire some excitement.

He was the one that came up with that 4 team deal a couple of years ago and he is the reason that the mavs manage to absorb all those bad contracts that they have used in trades to get better players. Give the man some credit he is a proven winner.

what bothers me is not his unbridled passion for the game and for his team, but with that passion comes the one-sided, whiny blogging owner that he has become..

    - if it doesnt benefit his team, then the refs are against him

    - if his team isnt winning in the game, then he sends a tape to the league commissioner of all the non -calls that went against them that particular night (only on the nights when they lose)

in the western conf. finals, there was an interview at halftime with Cuban- he said he planned on sending a hard foul (non-call) on the Mavs from one of the Suns players to the league office... the Mavs came back and won that game, we never hear from him again regarding the matter...

now to Game 3 of the Finals- Gary Paytons jumper to seal the victory- a nice pump fake on the defender, a gutsy shot by a guy who hadnt scored in the entire game...

watch the replay, there, in slow motion, is Mark Cuban, whining for a travelling call....

I watched the replay over and over and my blood boiled...

as long as it benefits him and his team, nothing is wrong withthe NBA...

if his team is losing, it a conspiracy against the Dallas Mavericks...

how could anybody on this website root for the Mavs this year?

    Question
Was Nash and Dirk holding each other back?

I dunno . . . with all the Nash Love going around
I think the new rules help him alot
and liberal reffing . . I don't think he got in Dallas

Cause one would be hard pressed to say dallas would go further
with Nash than it has with Terry.

If terry isn't part of the reason . . then what
cause folx d*mn sure isn't giving AJ much credit

I'm sure it does. But nobody likes to hear someone cry about everything. If Mark Cuban kept his issues private I probably would like him more.

Don't forget the Mav's are sitting on a much more expensive ryan bowen named keith van horn. If he played Bowen one on one, nobody would ever win because they suck so bad.

I wouldnt mind having Keith van horn on a cheap contract, he can spread the floor at the 4 position.

Mark Cuban is good on the business side of his team.

    But...

He's a whining ass joke otherwise. We don't need to see his mug every game the Mavs are in. Cuban needs to quit trying to be a part of the show. He doesn't need to be on the floor during a game or in a huddle either.

Cuban is the court jester of the NBA who has paid enough in fines to get his face on TV. He's earned it.

Exactly, he has no objectivity. He pretty much buys the ref's whistles just because he draws so much attention to it. I think it's awesome that he treats his players well, has such a passion for the team, etc... but the thought of his buying a championship sickens me.
