Sometimes when you post I wonder if you're James Harden, since you joined on October 28, 2012. Or just his #1 fan recently acquired from OKC like the player himself. The two players you mentioned are gettable. Josh Smith gives some helpside defense, Paul Millsap beasts. Pau Gasol is the best player among them but we do need to secure a player for the long haul. Looking at NBA rosters, I just don't see who that would be. Kevin Love is one of the best players in the NBA and not available.
Whiteside needs to be moved to PF and allowed to play alongside a legit center. He's dumb. But he's got a serious offensive scoring skillset. If we cleared some of our bigs in a trade, I'd like to give him a shot. I think if he was running the floor, setting picks and rolling into a postup position he could very productive.
Get emeka Okafor Make a run for him in the middle of the season before the trade deadline, he would be a great pick up defensively and double double guy automatically. He can anchor this teams defense. Then after that we go after an all star player
I say lets just sign Andrew Bynum for the max in the summer and call it a day. Then ship out all our PF's for a S&T'ed Josh Smith and call it a day. I'm sure Atlanta can't turn down a 13423 for 1 deal.
I've never been a fan of Morey and Moneyball, but I would go bananas if he traded Motejunas and parts for Josh Smith. Once upon a time I was a big fan of Smith and for his acquisition by the Rockets. However, considering his price vs his stats, I would much prefer Donatas, a true PF who actually can play center, especially when he gains weight/strenth with age.
Is Chandler Parsons capable of playing at the 4 for significant minutes? My understanding is that This Was Tried last season with mixed results. What about now? Would Asik, as a legit 7-footer, be able to provide cover for Parson's lack of true power forward size and strength? If the answer to these questions is "yes" then the Rockets have the luxury of pursuing a long wing / swingman type like Rudy Gay, absolutely. The search for another all-star caliber piece would need not be limited to a power forward. In fact this team looks really, really good, on paper: 1 - Lin 2 - Harden 3 - Gay 4 - Parsons 5- Asik Thoughts?
I think I've been wrong about smith all this time. After watching the game I rewatched parts to concentrate on JS. He is a legit four with range. Would love to see him on the team but I'm still not sold on the max for him.
The other 'KMart' is available for PF. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--kenyon-martin-upset-he-can-t-get-nba-job-04311709.html Kenyon Martin upset he can't get NBA job
Kevin Love would be perfect for this team. He's already publicly expressed to management that he would leave the twolves if they don't make the playoffs this year.
The more I think about it, the closer I come to finalizing it between KLove and LMA. As McHale and many on this board have stated, we need a big to spread the floor like anything. If the opposing bigs are allowed to pack the paint against us, Lin and Harden get hampered since they have no room to maneuver there. KLove gives us out to the 3 pt range and gives us even more rebounding while you can sit LMA and have him hit mid-range shots all day long. Both are super-effective in pulling opposing bigs out to the perimeter (see: Asik trying to defend LMA). Either player works for us and would be the "home-run" that takes us all home.
Kevin Love. This team would BEAST it HARD. But I support a serious strength and nutrition program to add some muscle on the boy-muscles on our young team.
How the hell would we be able to land either Kevin Love or Lamarcus Aldridge ? They are both franchise talents and will not be traded under any condition.
