A Ryan Anderson on this team would be nice to have. But not right now. Not until we get a better player. Then you round out the roster with guys like Anderson or Diaw. We can't tie up cap and deny ourselves the opportunity to get another superstar. We're fixing to head to a mushroom growth of the salary cap. Teams like Cleveland are going to be looking to add 2 more superstars and wind up with 4 superstars. You have to look ahead down the road and see what's coming. You lock down superstars, especially young superstars, now, then when the cap bangs up to $80 and then $100 million, you be in a position to add a 4th superstar. In the meantime, get 3 and hopefully a stud rookie or two and round out the roster with short-term non-boat anchor contracts.

We desperately need a PG, we might can make do with DMo, Jones, and Smith. We can't make do with Terry and Pablo. Seriously, I am shocked we made it to the Western Finals with two 38 year old Point Guards. Truly Amazing. The Clippers series is still really inexplicable.

There are teams that have had offensive success due to the system like Pop (lately, his stars are getting older but his plays get them good looks) and Adelman (he made Kevin Martin look like an all-star). We will not be one of those teams.

So we need at least 2 players who can beat their man, collapsing the defense. And we need 3-4 shooters who can hit 3's at a 38% clip to make them pay for helping. I don't think the 2 playmakers have to be wings. We've seen Josh Smith take his man off the dribble in the post and finish at the rim or kick out to a shooter. He's just not consistent enough to be our second guy.

DMo, however, could be. He's was so efficient this year that he really could develop into a guy that, if you don't double him, will get 20+ points on 50+% shooting. From the looks of it, he has the passing skill (and certainly the height) to quickly survey the floor and hit the open man.

So my answer to what we need is #1: knockdown cold blooded 3 pt shooter(s) and THEN #2: playmaking wing (yes, probably PG). Even with our "Roll the Ball out and let Harden Play" offense, our shooters get open looks. If they can't hit them, it won't matter whether it's Harden or Lawson or DMo or Smith passing it to them.

Hell, we don't need much. Just a point guard who can pass, hit a three, and play defense. See? Not much at all.

    (yeah, that's sarcasm)
