is there a site out there that lists all podcasts? i assume you can listen to them online..be interested in checking some out
We actually record by talking on skype and recording individually on our computers. Makes it more difficult for editing but sounds much better. Thanks for listening. DragonCon is a lot of fun, if you can handle lots of weirdness. I am not quite a sci-fi junkie yet (though it might seem like it from the company I keep) so I tend to stick to Podcasting, Writing and the fan panels for Heroes and Firefly. I recommend PodcastPickle.com. It's pretty complete as far as a podcast directory. If you don't use iTunes that is. iTunes has nearly ever podcast ever created because a large number of people use it.

Generally: This Week in Tech Downloadable Content (by the Penny Arcade guys, though it's not a regular podcast) Filmspotting MacBreak Weekly The 1Up Show Diggnation and just started Smodcast professorjay, I've been looking for a good comic book podcast, are you pretty happy with iFanboy? Hayesfan, that's awesome that you work on some podcasts. I've always thought about it but wouldn't know where to begin. I'll definitely check some of yours out!
The funny thing is I probably read one comic book a year now. I'm too lazy to wade through all the series' trying to figure out which one to follow, not to mention having to catch up on what I've missed since I stopped awhile ago. (I'm trying to restart w/ Uncanny X-Men 500 though). So basically I listen to this to keep tabs on what's going on now. Can't say I'm the best person to ask, but I like it well enough to keep listening. Anyone have a better recommendation?
I listen to podcasts all the time at work, usually 2-3 hours a day. My favorites in order are: Smodcast- Podcast by the director Kevin Smith and producing partner Scott Mosier. I think these guys are hilarious. It's just a couple of guys, hanging out, shooting the breeze and having some interesting/funny conversation. This is the equivalent of the best parts of a Kevin Smith movie, except they do it about once a week. Tony Kornheiser Show- His show is on hiatus right now while he does monday night football, but I've been a fan of his show for a while now. This is actually a local washington dc/maryland show, which is strange since I used to live in Los Angeles and now Honlulu, but I caught his show when he was on ESPN and really liked it. I've followed him ever since through multiple incarnations. Loveline- These are classic Loveline episodes when Adam Carolla was on the show. There's a few fan websites that archived these shows. I really liked the chemistry between Adam and Drew and there really is a lot of good information. My interest has waned a little since these shows get a bit dated with the guests and the particular rants that Adam gets into. Adam Carolla Show- I'm really getting into this show. I do miss Drew being an awesome foil for Adam, but the co-hosts are growing on me. Keith and the Girl- It's another chat show that gets into pop culture, and the goings on in the hosts life. I really like the stable of guest stars that they have. A lot of interesting personalities. I'm not a hardcore fan, but I'll listen to this show 1 or two times a week even though it's a mon-fri show. Chud Show- It's a movie podcast show with guys that are really sarcastic and funny. I don't like this show as much as I used to, but it's still a pretty solid funny program. The biggest downside is that they only do about 1 or 2 shows a month. This American Life- This seems to be on a few other lists. It's a great show, but for some reason I don't go to it as much, but everytime I do, I think it's great. Planet Japan- This is a podcast about Japan from two Americans living in the country. The subject matter is fascinating, though the hosts have kind of a corny sense of humor. I like the show, but for whatever reason, I've really tailed off on my listening. As you can probably tell, I like to listen to people just chatting and joking with one another. I just like that kind of laidback style, without any hardcore discussion on sports or politics. I used to listen to sports talk, but I got tired of the same speculation and arguments all the time.
I recommend Skepticality too if you like TSGttU. Skepticality is run by Derek and Swoopy... two really cool people and is the official podcast of Skeptics magazine.
sorry to bump...anyone know whats up with smodcast? i went to update today to see if any of the podcasts i subscribed to had updates...smodcast went to d-load...messes up...but it also says its trying to d-load 0.2 KB....is anyone else getting that problem?
I agree. I also enjoy his "Hardcore History" podcasts. Here are some others I listen to: My History Can Beat Up Your Politics Newshour w/ Jim Lehrer McLaughlin Group Washington Week MSR NBA Podcast Rockets.com podcast Morey interviews NPR: It's all Politics w/ Ken Rudin Slate's Political Gabfest - which sometimes features Will Saletan NPR: Talk of the Nation NPR: All Songs Considered For the NPR podcasts, all the links are here .
Just gave it a try, I'm having a problem w/ it too. It's dl verrrrrry slow (estimating 6 hrs?). Probably a problem w/ whatever servers Kevin Smith uses.
