Born in FL... then at 18 months or so... Heights - Brooksmith Addition to be exact -1 year... then to Pearland -2 years, then to Lake Jackson 12 years, then to Aldine Mail Route area for 1 1/2 years, out of state 1 1/2 years (FL), back to LJ 5 more years, then to college until, back to LJ for 2 more years... Out of state for 10 months (NM)... Back down to the big metropolis of Sweeny 2 years... Now in North TX for the past 6... So the majority of my life I watched Houston TV... still purposely catch KHOU segments on TXCN now.
B through age 5: Thornton in Oak Forest neighborhood Age 6 through 9: Garden Oaks Blvd. in Garden Oaks neighborhood Age 10 through 18: Lochtyne (off Piney Point Road) in Memorial In 1974 after my younger brother graduated high school, my folks sold the old family homeplace and moved into a cluster home at Broken Bayou out Memorial almost to Addicks Road. Our family "ancestral" home was on 19th (?) street in the Heights-- lots of Thanksgivings and Christmases there...
Stafford (Meadows Place formerly known as The Meadows) until 6th grade, then moved to First Colony in Sugar Land.
Mostly in Channelview and North Shore. The best thing about growing up in Channelview was how many of us had a good sense of humor about living there. We all knew it sucked.
Memorial til I was 8. Then New Territory (Sugar Land) til College. Though I only went to private schools...The Village School and Strake Jesuit.
Lived a few years in Memorial Plaza (beltway 8 and I-10 Town and Country) Lived 2 years in New Territory Sugarland Most of my life was over seas.
Meyerland, and I own a house 5 blocks from the one I grew up in, although my house is technically in Westbury.
When I 1st Move to Houston I lived in that area [never knew it was known as Maple West . .then again I was more Fondren/ W. Bellfort ] I went to Good ole Fondren Middle School Rocket River
Gulfgate...been here for 26 years. from hanging out at gulfgate mall and the theater, to watching it go down one store at a time, to its current state, it's been quite an experience.
