Hehe...well I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that PS3 info is what most people want. The only problem with that is that pretty much nothing of importance about the PS3 has been let out since TGS. In a way, that's what's going to make the "unveiling" so awesome. We don't know ANYTHING more than what Sony let us know about the PS3 at E3 and TGS pretty much. It should be interesting once they finally give us a date, price, final console/controller design, online plan, playable games, final specs for both Cell and RSX, Blu-ray info, etc. Almost like E3 in a way.

But until that time comes, is seems like the only threads about PS3 and PS3 vs Xbox 360 will basically contain regurgitated info that contains nothing new. Sure, I could dissect the CPU/GPU performance for each (eh...actually not really since RSX is still a mystery). We could discuss the probability of the PS3 hitting the target renders at E3 (speaking of which, KZ has been basically confirmed to have been a CGI video...I was still hoping that it was possibly like 2-3 FPS and sped up :D). There are some things to discuss concerning the PS3, but nothing actually new. Oh...but I think that might change very soon hopefully. :)

In the end though, I want to have other things to post about once all that stuff is known and the PS3 can be found easily at a local Wal-mart...or even the Xbox 360 for that matter. It is a little too early to be discussing the PS4 and Xbox 720 (or whatever they'll call it). So...I can throw in some PS3/Xbox 360/Revolution sales data! YEAH 3 votes! ;)

Not sure about GoW. I'll check some things out, but it might be a while....although maybe it could be a GH title pretty soon. Can't remember how well it has sold so far.

So, to sum up of the results of the poll, video game previews and video game discussions seem like a must. I'll probably work on some sort of previews for games coming in February and the rest of January (basically DMC3:SE it looks like); I'll probably put that up tonight or some time this weekend. Not sure when I'll try to do a video game discussion thread, but now I know that people will like them.

I'll probably go with a "VG deals for the CAG" thread, but I might wait until some good deals show up before I make that.

As for the PC, it seems like some people would like more of that, but I didn't really see many suggestions for it. Do note that I will probably put PC games in the preview threads that I mentioned above, so you guys can still look forward to that; I'm sure the video game discussion threads will also contain PC games. I'm still unclear on what other PC topics I could include though. I guess I'll go with a few more threads about the $500+ graphics cards, and if they don't get much interest, I'll just drop them and continue to talk PC games in the preview and discussion threads.

It actually looks like a few people were interested in the sales aspects of the video game business, although I don't recall seeing anyone post about it. I'll go ahead and do an "experiment" and try to post some December and early January sales sometime and see what happens.

And the PSP got little to no love, so I won't bother doing anything more with it than I have been doing so far.

As for the "Other," I believe the only serious things posted in the thread were mostly about mods and emulation (correct me if I'm wrong about that). I don't typically pay much attention to that sort of stuff, outside of maybe some emulation for early systems. Even if I did, I'd rather not make threads on things like mod chips and other "gray areas" involving video games. So I probably won't meet those requests myself, although others can of course.

Again, thanks for the suggestions and ideas. They were a big help. :)

Yeah, I would also like to see more PC game stuff. But more specifically, I would like to see more stuff about single player PC RPGs. I know this is a niche market though, so there probably aren't that many games to talk about...

There might be quite a bit actually, or at least quite a bit since single-player RPGs are probably the only thing I really play on the PC, so I'll talk about them a lot. :)

The big one would be TESIV: Oblivion, although that is 360/PC. Still got Gothic 3, NWN 2, Hellgate: London, and a few others (some maybe not announced, or with TBA dates, like Diablo 3, Fallout 3, and Dragon Age by BioWare).

I will speak from my own self interest, and it may be that nobody else has the same questions that I do. Feel free to ignore it, because if you write about this stuff, your audience might just be me alone.

Also I have a limited budget and buy about 3-5 games a year. So I'm primarily looking for games with a lot of playing time included.

I voted for more PC stuff. I would like to see practical advice about MMORPG's.

I know D&D online is coming out, and I am curious about it.

These are questions I would love to know about DDO as well as all of the other MMORPG's out there.

I would like to know how much solo vs. group content there is.

How is the class balance(is one better than the rest or worse than the rest)?

Is it possible to still accomplish a little bit while only playing for 30 min. - 1 hr at a time? Or do you have to stay on for 4 or more hours to get anything done.

How easy or hard is it to find a group?

    Is there crafting?

Will you be left behind and unable to get good equipment if you don't craft?

How much time will crafting take?

    Is the crafting system tedious?

    Can you only craft?

Is there mechanics programmed into the game allowing groups of people of high level to still run around with people who are low level?

How involved are the quests? Is it fed ex style questing?

Are there quests that involve puzzle solving as well available?

Are there guilds in the game?

Is it necessary to join a guild to progress past a certain point?

How many characters per server does the account allow?

    What are the looting options?

I have played EQ, EQII, Star Wars Galaxies, and WoW(just a little). Anyway in EQ after a certain point you had to be in a guild, and it was impossible to accomplish anything unless you spent 5 hours or more if there were deaths involved to accomplish anything. I rarely had 5 hours at a time to devote to the game.

EQII, was cool. I didn't like crafting, and was a little left behind because I couldn't craft the right equipment to keep up with everyone.

Usually the most fun I had in any of the games was getting with a fun group and tackling challenges doing rescue missions for people, going on quests. It was cool to work together and come up with strategies. It was especially great when everyone was laid back, didn't get upset when someone made an innocent mistake, and were helpful.

At the same time some of the worst times I had in the games was doing nothing for 1 1/2 hours while trying to get a group together, and by then half the people had to leave, or I had to leave and I would be frustrated. Or some of the people in the groups were greedy, less than helpful, or impatient with others and felt they were superior players.

So each time logging in would be difficult.

A happy middle ground would be soloing, but sometimes solo content was minimal or non-existent.

My friends usually have more time to play the games than I do, and they quickly outlevel me.

My wife usually plays with me. She loves crafting and would mostly craft in the games. I hate crafting, and would never craft if possible in the games.

I would love to hear a preview about a good mmorpg that answered all of these questions in one place, rather than sorting through dozens of bbs pages to find threads that may or may not definitively answer them.

I'm sure others would be interested since I can already think of a few people on the BBS who play MMORPGs. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them...in fact, I've yet to play one period. And until I get a new PC as well as get over some bandwidth limitations, it might be a while until I do. :(

So outside of any previews in the preview threads, I probably won't be offering much info on any MMORPGs. You may be out of luck there unless someone else on the board wants to help you out there.

BTW, not sure if you read this too, but I read some PR from Bioware concerning the Jade Empire IP, and from the sounds of it, Jade Empire 2 is definitely in the works. In fact, it almost sounded like Bioware wanted to make a franchise out of it, so you may get more than just a Jade Empire sequel down the line. Maybe not Jade Empire 12 like Final Fantasy, but there might be a few games in the series as long as gamers enjoy them.

Yes I read that some bigwig said they were going to continue the franchise, so that is good news. I will have to be patient.

I will throw a secondary vote to single player rpg games for the PC. I'm excited about Oblivion.

I also saw that you mentioned an upcoming Fallout 3? Is that for real? Do you know what stage of development it is in? I loved the Fallout series.

Thanks for keeping me posted about all of that.

All I know is that it is being developed by Bethesda...who, ironically, made Oblivion, the other game you mentioned in that post. IIRC, not much is known about it other than a small confirmation that it was in development at E3 last year. Might see more at E3 this year, or so I hope. :)
