LA - I think they would give up ANYONE on their team
I kobe has worn out his welcome . . and I think Shaq is just worn out

Sac - Would they give up Peja? Webber? Again I think so

    7'5 is 7'5

    QUESTION
Would every team in the league give up their BEST player for Yao?

I think they would take the risk

Haha, I wrote a post below after we're eliminated but didnt bother to create a new thread. I can post here now. :D

There are so many topics about whether we should build around Yao, why not we try to build around SF and see what team would we have? Actually I think Yao has the highest trade value on this team (sorry to break it to u juugie, amed and Summer Song Giver) and we would get a borderline superstars from him, such as Pierce and even T-Mac. I think Yao is at least 3-4 years away from being "the man", if he ever will. Would our core players have passed their prime already at that time? If we get a more ready star player from Yao, can we contend for the championship now?

This thread is not about to trade Yao but to build a team around SF which can utilise SF's talent, hopefully it would be a championship caliber team. It's just a discussion and please dont be so sensitive about the idea to trade yao. If u r very high on Yao, u can suggest to trade him for shaq (call me YOF but I honestly think that Lakers would seriously consider it) and can we be instant championship contender? It u think Yao is a so-so good player, u can also trade him for dampier (juugie, agree?) so that SF can play against Kobe and shaq with him.

As I have followed rockets 2 seasons only so I dont really know how did SF perform before the zone rule applied. But in these two years, he seems to be the best when the ball is on his hand. He can take his shot off the dribble, penetrate and create for his teammates. I am not sure if he is a good mix with another superstar guards. For star forwards, do u think K-mart can complement SF well?

    Any ideas?

Both Boston and Orlando will trade Pierce or Tmac for Yao in a heartbeat, and most league insiders will consider it a steal and have pity on Rockets.

You can certainly build a championship caliber team around Steve. All you need to do is to add KG to SF3 and Tmac combo, then you can compete with the Spurs for the championship in the next few years.

Down the road, after either Boston or Orlando finish building around Yao, the Rockets' title dream will be shattered.

Let's see, a back up center, a 6th man PF, a 3rd string PF and a All Star Center who may or may not develop into a great player for an All Star PF and an All Star C. Far from a lop-sided trade

    Yao + Cato + Spoon + Mo + Pike + JJ

    for

Webber + Miller + Peja + 5 future first round picks + 2 million cash

Yao Ming is 1 of 4 players that are literally untouchable:

    1. Kevin Garnett
    2. Tim Duncan
    3. Yao Ming
    4. Lebron James

Out of lots of garbage in this thread, only this one makes some sense.

To win championships, you build around a big man. Yao and Duncan go into this category. Garnett is NOT a big man, not unless he actually developes a low-post game.

To sell tickets and increase TV ratings, you build around a popular superstar. like James, Garnett, Yao, Kobe, or T-Mac.

Yao seems to be the only player who meet both criteria. If I were Les, I wouldn't trade Yao for anybody. Pierod.

From a fan's perspective, I would love for Yao to be traded to Warriors. That way I can watch 41 games a season, plus playoffs!

Looking at those realgm posts, seems like the only players we couldn't get by trading Yao were Duncan, KG, and LeBron (contracts aside).

You know, this thread actually brought back some perspective on just how lucky we are to have Yao.

Kings are my second favorite team next to the Rockets, so I usually dont bash on any of the Kings players. But come on, how dumb would that be for us to trade Yao for those two. Webbers injury prone and not as good or agressive as he was before, plus hes about to pass his prime. Miller, I would love to have as a 4 to help Yao but never to take his place. Just nowhere good enough to fill Yaos shoes.

I wouldn't say it's a sure dynasty, it lacks some toughness, but MAN that King's team will just be sick.

Actually King's had the league's best record without Webber. So essentially that trade upgraded Miller to Ming plus Cato, Taylor and Spoon !

That's a sick team. 'tis all.

SF3 and Yao for Parker and Duncan. This one will be good for the rockets.

    Couldnt agree more.

Duncan > Yao, at least for now.
TP > SF, for any foreseeable future.

If Yao is not valued and fully utilized here in Houston, any trade for him will be good.
