^ damn those tinypic deletions -- I'd like to see some of those pics again.

They exist in the archive, but i'm not digging them up now...

Agreed. Their disappearance explains the feeling I had a few months ago...i felt a great disturbance in the webz, as if millions of bytes suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

I can't believe I had a response in that RJ thread...I definitely hadn't read it before. That was absolute gold. I almost enjoyed that as much as the pile-on in the classic V-Span hangout thread...

It's sad how similar the story in that thread is to some of the tripe that has dominated GARM for the past three months. And the initial responses weren't any different either...

Wow I just read through that thread again and while many threads claim to be epic that one truly did. I'm dissapointed Sishir Chang didn't challenge KAS13. Now rocketsjudoka would've shown up at LIVE. ;)

I worry that we would fall to fisticuffs immediately, as we debated manned versus unmanned space travel, but your posting of George T and the Delaware Destroyers kind of leads me to roll the dice here. So: back at you.

The italics guy is a close second though. SamFisher is in last place, and Rimbaud is now 17th from last.

That's it but I doubt they have it in stock as the Abbey will only brew a few batches per year and limit one case per customer. It's technically illegal to resell any Westvleteren product and they have apparently been busting places for doing it ....though I did get a single bottle of Westvleteren 8 at 8 euros from Bier Tempel in Brussels last year.

The belgian bars/restaus here are not my favorites. Resto is way too trendy, and hence wildy overcrowded, underserviced and overpriced (though stupidly they undercharge for St. Bernardus Dubbel, one of the best beers they have, at just 8$ a bottle)....Markt is ok but overpriced, the Belgian Room lacks ambience.....Have never been to Cafe de Bruxelles but heard the same....it's easier just to fly to Brussels for a long weekend.

And for the record, the only decent beer bar on UWS is Dive Bar....it's a dump and a bit pricey but a very nice tap/bottle list.

Now you talkin'! My wife liked the beer room better also, tho she'd prefer Mickylo to Heiny! We live just a few hills southwest of Austin (Kerrville) and I have to make a trip to Cabela's pretty soon(probably this weekend or next). I'd definately like to have a sip of whatever with anyone in the Austin area.

By the way DD, how's the wine business?

I offered to buy kelly a brew when I was in the midwest last year, but wasn't able to make connections. Maybe he saw me drooling while I was posting to him! :D

Lordy, that was some funny ish. It is a testament to the quality of that thread that it is still entertaining even when many of the pics have disappeared.
