You're right, Jason did a bang-up job filling in for his dad (I saw it on TV)... and I'd be thrilled to see that version of Zepplin if it's all I could get.

Floyd w/o Waters may not be as good at creating new music (OK, that's an understatement), but I didn't feel like anything was lacking in the live performance of their old stuff. Still, if I could go back and see both bands in their heyday...

Also, reading through this thread now, I'm inspired to add Hendrix and Stevie Ray to my wish list. And, just to get off the music trend... Richard Pryor or George Carlin.

Gang of Four actually has several tour dates in europe, as well. i'd expect them to do a small US tour soon. it'd be much better to see them in a club-like environment than a lame-ass "festival" environment.
1.) DEVO- in their prime. i saw them last year and it was the best show i've ever seen. i can't imagine that in 1978!
2.) The Big Boys- i was a bit too young to get into those clubs in 79-81. i've seen all the permutations of that band, but the original would be INCREDIBLE! (this one's for you MR.MEOWGI.)

    EDIT:
dude, i can't believe i forgot this. some folks already mentioned mingus:

The Money Jungle: a short-lived incarnation (there's even an album with the same name) of maybe the best trio EVER:
    Duke Ellington (piano)
    Charles Mingus (bass)
    Max Roach (drums)
    ...'nuff said.

A lot of corpses are going to have to be dug up and reanimated for all of these reunion concerts to take place....

Oh, oh, oh, oh how I yearn to see a Led Zeppelin concert. Man, do I wish I could go back and see them. They are the greatest band ever, in my opinion.

Stone Temple Pilots - I don't know that they broke up on bad terms. Maybe, they could reunite after Scott Weiland is done with Velvet Revolver (who is awesome). STP is my second favorite band, though. I believe the DeLeo brothers played some of the best sounding guitars ever. They might not be that hard, but if they're not badass..... See: Sex Type Thing, Down, Wicked Garden, Piece of Pie, & Plush for starters.

I'd say the Beatles, but I saw a cover band called the "Fab Four." I've never seen footage of a Beatles concert, so based on not seeing them, I would say this cover band sounded JUST like the real thing, they looked like the real thing, and they did all the stuff like the real thing. If you want to see the Beatles live, look up this group.

Someone said the Rat Pack. Abso-freaking-lutely. My parents took me to see Sammy Davis, Jr. as a kid, and I was impressed even then. To see him and freaking Sinatra along with Dean Martin on stage together? Forget it. That would be great.

Would love to see the Police.
