Ah! So you build a Pi NAS and slap Plex on it.

My only limitation is that I have an older Synology that I'd like to keep going. It won't run Plex. My option there was to upgrade to a newer Synology, but that's $160. I guess I could just set up the NAS shares on the Pi to index and play the music.

Thanks, this is a good alternative, HP. I am very familiar with Pi so it might be an easy project!

i subscribed to jambase/rhapsody for like 15 years, but switched to apple a couple years ago b/c rhapsody started crashing on me all the time. definitely worth $10/month. its been super rare that they dont have something im looking for. i like the format and the ability to build a library of albums and make playlists. never had any technical issues at all. smooth sailing.

For your consideration, here's the Alexa-to-Plex voice command library:

    Library Radio
Play popular tracks from artists spanning across the entire library.

    • Play some music
    • Play library radio
    • Play Soundtracks library radio (e.g. “Play [library name] library radio”)
    Time Travel Radio

    • Play time travel radio
    • Play Soundtracks time travel radio (e.g. “Play [library name] time travel radio”)
