"Calamari wrestler" actually got good reviews, I have not seen it but I will maybe pick up the DVD if i get a chance, looks pretty funny from the trailer.
We match up well against the Spurs because they take a more traditional approach. Yao plays really well when you let him patrol the paint and block shots....same with Mutombo. It's when you pull them out closer to the perimeter where they seem more uncomfortable. Scola will be an upgrade over Howard because Scola is full of energy and covers a lot of ground. He may not be KG, but he looks pretty dam mobile to me. Scola looks just as fast as some of the really good NBA big men. Also, Scola is strong so he won't be pushed off the block that easily. I think we need a guy like Foster to have a big guy to pound on Duncan and rebounds. He would have more size to do it than Hayes. Also, our power forwards might get in a lot of foul trouble and I'm not sure what Landry can do or if Butler can even play power forward.
Also, we need to get rid of these players: Reed Alston Lucas Snyder Alston might be an insurance policy if Francis or James get injured, but I'm worried that Alston might be a disturbance in the lockerroom if he doesn't get playing time. Snyder, I wouldn't have minded keeping but that dude will be making 3 million the year after next....that's too much for a guy that might not be on our active roster and money we can spend on better players. Reed is just a dead weight and has a bad contract. I wouldn't mind getting some second rounders for these guys or just expiring contracts....(more for Alston if that's possible)....
I'd rather keep Snyder for the last year and see. Sura's expiring contract package with the other three players might get us something good though. Sura + Alston + JL3 + Reed for Camby. Denver is overloaded in the middle and needs PG help so I think it helps both teams. Yao Ming, Mutombo, Butler Camby, Scola, Hayes Battier, Wells, Novak McGrady, Head, Snyder Francis, James, Brooks I think this is a champion team.
