If you want to take a sniper rifle and take out Okur, Kirilenko and Boozer at a Jazz game..i would consider you a fan.
thats one thing u can beat me at, although i can counter with a Stromile Swift, but you can counter is Donte Green
Honestly, I think Dave2000 is the Rockets fan. He's at every game and he knows more about the Rockets than you. Now if he would just stop watching all those chick flicks and listening to fruity music.
-A true fan that sticks by the team through thick/thin. No bandwagon allowed! -A true fan that tries to watch EVERY game as possible. -A true fan that dreams about the Rockets players. I've dreamt of Battier, Scola and Artest. -A true fan that gets heartbroken after a heartbreaking loss/injury. -A true fan that can't stand people who jump on the bandwagon when the team is good. -A true fan CANNOT stand people who say "GO Rockets!" only during the playoffs and they don't even know the team players. -A true fan that gets all excited when a certain Rockets player sends a friend request on Facebook. -A true fan owns Rockets paraphernalia. -A true fan not able to sleep when knowing they'll see the Rockets players in person next day. (i got an autographed ball by battier from scola during team introductions against the pistons last month) Most of all, a true fan has heart for the team.
I had a dream a few months back where assistant coach T.R. Dunn came out on a court and just decked an official for making bad call after bad call on Yao. It was at the TC and the whole arena erupted, the ref had a bloody face and all. For some reason though like I was watching the game at home and the play by play announcer was Jim Ross and he went beserk when it happened.
This year's draft *almost* has me thinking we can make the playoffs this year. What's a fan? You refer to the team as "we." In regards to my Bengals fandom: I absolutely HATE that team because they break my heart every year.
Lance was on the radio yesterday saying that there are very few days that a Bengals fan can enjoy... the Draft and the day after the draft are two of them... the others were like the first day of training camp and the first game. I really liked our draft picks this year, as long as none of them get arrested... but then it seems like no one can do that in Cincinnati (ie Kirk Snyder). I think there is something in the drinking water.
(postjack continues aka there's no one to talk Bengals with in Houston) lol, and Bernard Scott makes Chris Henry look like a saint. Still, I couldn't be happier with how the draft turned out. 4 starters (Smith, Rey, Luigs, Huber), and a potentially insane pass rusher... AND we're finally getting rid of Perry and Levi?! It's like Christmas!
If you cheer for a team, say, because they're your hometown team, but don't really care one way or the other, but your interest definitely peaks when and if they ever make it to the playoffs, then you're simply a casual fan. This is how I am with the Texans and Dynamo. If you cheer for the team, but don't really go out of your way to watch games, yet are still concerned with their record and how they are doing, then you are simply a fan. This is how I am with the Astros. (I also feel MLB is a broken sport, which greatly hinders my overall interest in the game and the Stros, but that's for another thread.) If a part of you dies with each loss, if you're genuinely upset, no matter where it is in the season (playoffs simply hurt more) then you are a true fan. A real fan. A big fan. This is how I am with the Rockets.
please... most rockets fans have dreams about shane battier, regardless of gender- the dude is attractive to many women because of his looks and to many hardcore rockets fans because he can shut down a premier wing scorer without fouling out or even coming close to it. thats hot.
chick flicks are the awesome, I think my music taste is great after I met Kam, that I can't compete.....
