Im the kind of fan that doesnt scream my lungs out, get mad/happy about anything. That doesnt say the game is over when up by 10 with 1 minute to go.
which version of photoshop do you use. ive been trying to find a good one so i can get up on my pic mixing skills. oh yeah a true fan hmmmmmmmmmm watches every game.(unless unforeseen circumstances occur) except the ones he/she attends. stays around after the game to meet other fans..sticks with the team no matter what and defend them when haters talk down..stays on CF and rockets.com 247. goes to all the events possible. ..IMO
I've been a fan for awhile and my whole family knows it. I don't paint my face and wear a red wig. I just love the Rockets. I just do. EVE LIKES MOBALLS TOO!
on my wedding video, one of my ushers literally spoke these words into a video camera at the reception: "good luck, (insert MadMax's wife's name here), competing with the Rockets for your husband's love."
When people in your office depend on YOU for their information. "What time is Game 5?" "I'm not sure...let's ask ima...I'm sure HE'LL know...." When people in your office don't know your name...but they DO know you as "that guy that likes the Rockets" When your wife schedules her "girls night out" according to which night the Rockets are playing because she knows you'll be useless to her that night anyway. When the majority of gifts you get on Birthdays/Christmas are Rockets related. When people get annoyed at you because when you've had too much to drink, you start ranting about "fake Rocket fans" and about how long you've been watching/going to Rocket games. When people you don't really know that well open up a conversation by asking you about the Rockets because that's the only thing they know about you. When your parents warn your fiancé about your Rockets obsession and tell her that it will never change so she just has to learn to deal with it.
If you love the team deeply no matter what, you are a true fan. You don't need to prove to anyone else, it's all in the heart.
I'm sorry, but that's more like mazyar syndrome to me then being true fan. I can understand if you scream "blast off" , but no man names please.
Sports are like a drug. A really detrimental thing that does nothing but bring undue stress and aging to those who get addicted to it. That said, the euphoria is still worth every minute. Except for Cubs fans.
50,000+ posts. Just kidding, fandom is an individual thing, some are more rabid and vocal than others, but that doesn't make them more of a fan than the quiet person who cheers in their own way. I suspect most on this BBS are fans.....some of us more vocal than others, but all of us fans. DD
A true fan is somebody who stay with their team through highs and through lows. I was a Philadelphia Eagle fan when they went 3-13 and I was with them when they went 13-3 and I'll be with them if they go 0-16. Same way for the Rockets. If they went 0-82 I'd still be a fan of the Houston Rockets. I cannot stand people who jump on teams just because they're good all of a sudden or they have a great play (most Laker and Cav fans now).
I have 3 of them the gray/red, black/red, and Campus collection (navy/brown/red) I have about 30 Rockets jerseys, first to know that BOUGHT a Rafer jersey back in 2007 playoffs, about 20 hats, I have a freaking Clutch the Bear soap dispenser.... don't ever judge my fanhood.... BOOM ROASTED!!!
Like a few of you have said it's all about staying with them through thick and thin and knowing they are your team. I've been a hardcore Rockets and Bears fan since I was a kid, never wavered and have always stuck with them. Hell I even converted the wife into fans of both teams.
I know what you mean. I've stuck w/ the Browns through the miserable 2-14 and 3-13 seasons to the....5-11...4-12...um...you know what never mind. (J/k, there have been a few decent seasons here and there). My wife also knows to plan ahead our day by asking if there are any games.
