I can't do nuthin' fo ya, man. Sorry, I have not listened to any Centromatic. From what I read, they are very prolific and are constantly recording and releasing new material. Have you ever been to Good Records on Good Latimer just north of the Deep Ellum tunnels? I'm sure they would let you listen to some Centromatic if you ask nicely.
Blues music is the only music I would care to see performed live. Two local guys here in PA. are Frank Grace and Clarence Spady. Both play in Chicago quite a bit and are starting to get national recognition. Look for the band Ultra Pull (formerly Pull) to put out their first CD later spring. I posted a link to listen to their songs and many of you gave them a good review. Since they were signed, their songs have been Pulled from the internet.
Houston: Different Kind of Monkey House of Moist Blessitron 4000 - no website but they're having a CD release party at the Axiom next week.
you want 6 dollas for what?? I dig the PE reference, deepellumrocket. I've been by Good Records many times before, but I've never actually been in. sadly, I'm not as up on the scene as I should be. I've also never seen a Chomsky or DRD show. but I did catch a Weener show once at Curtain Club that was better than the real Weezer I saw in fort worth. I wish I went down there to check out live music more often. . . life is hard up here in the 'burbs. off-topic: the one thing Houston has hands-down on dallas is the greatness of the Mucky Duck. I haven't found any acoustic venue up in dallas that can compare to the Duck. so if there are any entrepeneurs here on the board who have a lot of capital and nothing to do with it, please open up a Duck franchise here in dallas. thanks. fight the power, chieva chieva
