The worst ever. I cheated on anything and everthing I could get my ears and eyes on. But I am doing alright for myself now a days.

Don't ever underestimate the power of street smarts.

I had a girlfriend one semester and we were taking a graduate level urban history class. Actually, that's when I met her. The professor, a young guy in his early 30's, the girl and I started hanging out together outside of class. This was back in the mid-70's and we used to, well... let's just say that Ashcroft wouldn't have approved. Anyway, it turned out that she was sleeping with him as well as me.

What amused me was that I aced the course and, to her consternation, she got a B. And she was really beautiful. Nice memories. Crazy, but nice. Not sure if that gives any insight about yours truly as a student, but it's all I'm giving out at the moment.

I'm the chick who shows up for exactly half of the classes, takes notes half the time, doodles the other half, and ends up passing anyway.

    High School

first year: didn't really study, but made almost straight A's cause the classes were easy

2nd and 3rd years: got really annoyed with the whole thing.. teachers, classmates, all the high school BS.. stopped studying period, grades slipped.

senior year: Started getting involved a lot, did many extracirricular activities. Studied like a fiend, worked my butt off, got the good grades.

    College

first year: got really depressed after leaving home by myself, classes weren't too difficult but I was very sluggish in studying so I kind of underachieved.

second year: started getting involved some and meeting people, realized my grades were slipping, buckled down.. brought my GPA up..

(present) third year: involved in many campus organizations and activities, classes are getting HARD, in fact.. I should be studying right now.. I've got two papers and a big project due monday.. but I hope to come out smelling like roses.

p.s. GO COOGS (beating Mississippi State! HARRR!)

High School: I held the school record for dentention time served, and at a school that was like 100 years old. Punctuality was not my stong suit. I also never did homework. If you know high school, you know how much they love homework. Pretty much every teacher gave me the "You might be able to get through high school without doing homework, but when you get to college it will be a different story. Got 1540 on my SAT. :p

College: Still skipped about 90% of homework (basically everything that wasn't a group project, I don't want to screw someone else over). Skipped more and more classes as the years progressed. Never got lower than a B-. Graduated Magna c*m Laude with a degree in Computer Engineering.

Post College: Jobless slug with no direction. :(

My first year gpa was 0.9 - it would have been lower but they didn't count the incompletes.

I was a horrid student in college, but going to UT-Austin and playing in bands 3 nights a week can wreak havoc on the old GPA. The important thing is to get your degree. That piece of parchment can open alot of doors, believe it or not.

I was a pretty obsessive student. I guess it always bothers me when someone says college is much easier than working at a real job after college. I mean, I guess it is if you don't give a damn in college. But if you're taking five classes with multiple concurrent projects always going on, and you're crazy enough to work hard on all of it, I don't see how a real job is going to be any easier.
